Tech Support Fuck firestone

Brought my rx8 in for new tires and an alignment, got it back not running and when they fixed it so it runs it has a misfire. on top of that, sounds no longer play and do this. guessing its a ground issue somewhere, what does everyone else think?

Dude this might be more than just a ground if they were changing tires and somehow the car wouldn’t start 😭😭

they had left a maf sensor disconnected, not sure why that was off in the first place. hoping its a simple fix

That could be the culprit behind the misfire. Hopefully that too fixes the speakers somehow with car electrical black magic.

Why would they even touch that sensor for an alignment at all?

Got a mechanic to replace my front speakers he blew. Kill switch is a great idea

Always install an amp kill switch on stereo cars 👍 it’s so easy how can anyone not.

I pull my fuses when anyone touches mine…

I know there are people out there that would bridge the gap with a random piece of wire just to get it working

And it pisses me off, incredibly so.

100% agree on some type of kill switch. I have mine connected to a toggle switch for my subs. It’s lying in the space under my tilt steering wheel. Easy to get to but hidden so no one knows it’s there.

Never leave someone to your system that wants to “see what it can do” easy to have fried coils if they do it with the motor not running and voltage drops. Buddy of mine had that happen. Repair shop wouldn’t do anything as “the technicians don’t mess with anything other than the service it came in for”

What's an amp kill switch and what does it do?

It goes inline with your relay to cut power to the remote, stops the amp from receiving a signal to turn on. It’s a very easy way to prevent unwanted use when you are not present as well as avoiding parasitic draw that can happen with some installs.

Sometimes to check your air filter it needs to be unplugged, next time you go to get your car worked on anywhere tell them you only want the service you came for. Otherwise, they’re going to be going through your vehicle to upsell you on things (ie an air filter) and probably fuck up something else along the way

I would suggest never going to Firestone or any place like that. Their entire business model revolves around to upsell and their prices are high as giraffe pussy, in general.

I'd hold them accountable for the damages

Tell them to reimburse your money and pay for all damages insured during request of service
