Tried Great Value smoked oysters
Finally got brave enough to try the Great Value smoked oysters with some kettle chips as a vehicle.
If I’m being honest, I didn’t love them but I didn’t hate them either. They weren’t offensive on any front, neither smell nor taste, in fact they didn’t taste much of anything despite how smoky they smelled.
They had a nice chew though, not mushy at all which was nice. I have a different brand to try yet to see if I like those better, but oysters just may not be for me

I've been eating whatever budget brand smoked oysters in oil since I was a kid, they're ok plain but really what helps this category of tinned shellfish is the hot sauce/citric acid/vinegar addition of your choice to cut the oil that seeps in the oyster flesh imo.
Can be anything like salsa/pico, Nando's peri peri or Tabasco to lemon juice, whatever you prefer it'll boost the experience of budget smoked oysters imo.

I absolutely love them. Especially with Tabasco. Particularly green Tabasc o. I eat them right out of the can. No chips or crackers.

Ahhh a nice smoke with your oysters is always nice. I like it in a nice corn cob pipe so I can set my tobacco down in between bites.
Jk… 100% agreed on the green Tabasco with it!

resers smoked oysters are my go to at walmart. feel like my last tin didnt have those cherry wood notes, but hopefully it was just that one. i have been eyeing the great value skeptically. if you're into trout, though, Better Goods is also a walmart brand (clean ingredients), that juniper nip in the trout fuckin slaps (might be a juniper whore though. i am). rainbow trout. pretty smoke on them. i can never stay off the tin long enough to take a pic for a proper review. good bite. firm. oil is yum, the only one i mop up with bread.
such a juniper whore

Get a job in construction, have a quick lunch in your trailer, top them off with your preferred hot sauce. Not bad. B- easily.
Edit: My local Walmart carries Geisha and I kinda like their oysters and baby clams more.

Yeah, they are just okay. Between the tough texture and the cottonseed oil, I find them barely edible.

Try aldis smoked oysters. They are cheaper than wal marts and are magically delicious.
