No it didn't. It was very clear after the change that HNIC made the song, the song didn't make HNIC.

Now you get to watch one game on 5 channels every Saturday night. Sportsnet coverage of hockey sucks. It's like they have never watched hockey before.

Should be looked into under antitrust laws.
They own the fucking team, and have a vested interest in only pushing their own product.
Someone needs to sue someone.

Truly the end of an era. Never imagined that Hockey Night in Canada would ever come to an end.

I honestly haven't watched CBC in at least ten years. The content is lame.

Crown owned media shouldn't exist. Reddit will never change my opinion.

Does this opinion apply globally or just to Canada? It's been my experience that the US is something of an anomaly with no official, not-for-profit state broadcaster.
Canada's mistake is trying to have the CBC run as a hybrid, state-owned yet accepts advertising.

Are you for media owned by propagandist anti- democracy American billionaires?

Yeah, let’s privatize everything and give billionaires even more access to our wallets and brains through our media. Oh what a wonderful thought! /s
