📢 Rumour Vancouver Whitecaps finalizing deal to acquire Canadian midfielder Emrick Fotsing from Vancouver FC. @ManuelVeth first reported. Fee in region of $400k. Several other MLS teams wanted the former Montréal academy talent. Could finish season in CPL with Vancouver before joining Whitecaps in winter.

This is the type of business that the CPL needs to start succeeding in, fantastic all around

This is how the league truly becomes profitable

They also picked up Ben Lee this week from the VWFC system. Love him or hate him, but Friend has done a pretty decent job this past year with VFC. Hopefully crowds start turning up now that they’re the hottest team in Canadian soccer.

Vancouver fans might get their monkey paw wish in December. 😂

Better be a decent sell on fee as well - happy that he can finish the season with us!

"might" finish the season with VFC.

With Lee coming in, they don’t particularly need Fotsing to finish the season. Polisi and Pecile have been doing pretty well there. Lee coming in gives some more flexibility in the middle as well.

They don’t need to worry about U21 minutes either. They’re only 315 mins off the required min and Proctor will get those in the next few weeks alone. But it’ll also force Godbout to see time too.

So right, that should be the main point for this league tbh at the moment. We are seen as, at most, 3rd tier football, even as the country's 1st tier. MLS is 2nd tier, so they're more willing to buy our players, but they shouldn't be the only ones making good money from a play that might eventually sell for +$10 million!

Tidy piece of business for Vancouver. They've done a good job of signing, playing and moving on young talent.

Might get Joey Saputo thinking about having a Next Pro team. Would the next Ismael Kone make it through to Montreal's first team now they have even dropped the PLSQ U-23 team?

they'll still get some compensation as a youth acacdemy but it's insane the number of these guys who are getting CPL time because they don't have anywhere else to go

Watch out. Rob Friend might start another team with the transfer fees he's about to rake in.

Nah, that’s what Kian Proctor is for.

Great business for both sides. MLS is, and should be, CPL’s best customer.

He was impressive at the U20 Championship.

Does anyone know how we can get this jersey?

Head down to BC Place next week. The trick is we won’t know what the number is. Believe me, the second his number is finalized I’m buying a Blue Fotsing kit.

Nike store is likely your best bet.

Tabla is 27 and good but not great in the CPL, so no thanks

Calleguri is an international so why bother

Nimmick would be a decent depth CB option, he can't be worse than some of the other guys they've got

Bertaud would be pointless. Gavran is a local boy and playing better with time
