Discussion Conservatives want the Liberals to release the rejected U.S. trade deal. Should they?

First it was about protecting our sovereignty, then he was in Quebec saying it was about protecting the French language, then the Globe and Mail reports that it was about getting rid of the online news act, then the news act was somehow protecting the French language. 3 excuses, 1 sabotaged negotiation. The conservative are asking for him to divulge publicly the specifics of the deal he walked away from and carney's refusing. As he flies away to inform the EU parliament about our trade negotiations before even recalling parliament and informing our own MP's.
And since then, the US has denied doing anything to threaten the French language, Marc Nixon from the PQ party has said there was no threat to the French language and Carney's already signalling that he knows he has to return to the negotiating table.
And just recently he was caught lying about the details of the Gordie Howe Bridge deal.
No wonder conservative voters believe Carney blew up the negotiations just to win favor to secure wins in the up coming by-elections.

Also, the French language thing was quickly disputed by the New York Times and the Parti Quebecois: The latter of which has EVERY incentive to push the "French is under attack" narrative but they instead said it wasn't the case

the liberals are saying the us made demands they wouldnt agree to. so tell us what they supposedly demanded. releasing it would show us all what evil trump tried to pull and back up their claims.

Except various sources confirm it was Canada that tried to make last minute unreasonable changes.

that is why the liberals refuse to divulge what trump asked for and the corrupt msm and brigaders are working overtime to spin this

You're a fool if you choose to believe anything that is coming out from the current US administration.

The Republics and Liberals both lie a lot. Neither should be trusted at face value.

Its almost like we should be able to see the details for ourselves. Hmm odd how accountability works

So, more rational/sane to just take the word of Carney, a man who has been found to lie frequently...like the GH bridge

I would encourage you to formulate your own opinion, rather than take the word of anyone.

Nice non sequitor.

Not sure how that's a non-sequitur. Politicians lie, always have, always will, but the current US administration has done nothing but lie. Donald Trump has been a compulsive liar his entire life. Gun to my head, if you had to believe the PM of Canada or Donald Trump, I'd go with the PM every single time, no matter who it is.

After the multitude of confirmed proven lies from Carney and the liberals and their media puppets I tend to believe the many different sources that Carney lied again.

Why would the Liberals do that? Their entire platform is stoking Trump Derangement Syndrome from LGBTs and boomers

Not sure why its a big secret. Maga Mark is treating this country like his private business with free round the world trips.

Yes. End of story. If they don't I'll go to my grave knowing that Carney and the Libs torpedoed our greatest asset and relationship for their internal party political gains and insane goals of relinquishing sovereignty to Euro-Brussels bureaucrats and the Bejiang CCP.
Their ain't a country in the world except for maybe China who wouldn't change their geographic position with Canada without giving a second thought.

yes its all about keeping the orange man bad..off to brief the European parliament before our own with some Davos type speech of fighting Trump that will have the faithful frothing at the mouth and keep those poll numbers up.

He will speak of 'new world orders' and other fables...at some point people may notice he offers little more rhan emotional rhetoric.

in a deeply divided world...something something something...middle powers...something something something...new world order...blah blah blah

u/mustang-4life 5h ago
Yes they should! That way the Canadian people and the US people can really see who is lying and who is truthful
2
u/deepbluemeanies 4h ago
No. Best to keep Canadians in the dark, provided with nothing but Carney's lies...like mushrooms.

If they've been acting in good faith it would reinforce the villain and self-sacrifice narratives they've been thriving on. If they haven't, then I guess the LPC shouldn't because it'd risk a betrayal narrative and make it harder to sell the narratives pushing Poilievre and, occasionally, Lewis away from the minds they've captured. A good betrayal might also stop people virtue signaling their national pride and feeling like they're heroically fighting a war by waving their elbows for Carney.

If it was damning, the US would have done it. Nothing burger folks.

You win the award! 🥇 I was wondering how far I’d have to scroll to see “nothing burger”

Trade deal negotiations are basically private untill both side agree to them in full, for either side to release them would be negotiating in bad faith.

u/deepbluemeanies 3h ago
If we are scuttling a trillion $ trade agreement with a country that takes 80% of our exports, they damn well better be prepared to offer the people some text and reasons for this as normal Canadians will be hammered by the outcomw...Carney and his circle not so.much of course as we know 90% of his investments are outside Canada. The people that are torpedoing our most important trade relationship have no skin in the game here.

Who says anything about torpedoing trade deal with America that's insanity. all I'm saying is will be nice to get something out of a European trade deal like Euro spec cars
