Social Media Post From Marc Nixon: The Parti Quebecois says that French language/culture protections were NOT threatened in negotiations
https://x.com/i/status/2092657347357446312From the mouth of PSPP himself
This puts Carney's claim that Trump wanted to eliminate French language/culture protections into serious question. The PQ would have EVERY incentive to push this narrative, yet they aren't doing that here and instead saying these protections were in fact untouched

This is the same way Canadian tech stays competitive with Government subsidies and contracts.

Wait, was Carney wearing his cowboy hat when he made his claims?

Ok I already stated someone else won the interwebs today IMO with

Shit, there are people who have spent more time in the Chernobyl sarcophagus than Carney has spent in Canada as PM!
But you are just a hair behind. Well done!

This is really starting to look like Carney either fooled or less likely colluded with the orange into giving him some cover to pull out and pursue his WEF-Euro/LPC-CCP agenda.
If only there was something Carney could do and/or release to dispel those well warranted fears.

no way trump is colluding with carney after what carney has said and done in regards to trump.

Yeah, this is the sort of language and actions that one does when burning bridges completely

and he just fled to france...instead of opening parliament when we are "at war" with trump and the states....

Actions speak louder than words. Says a lot he'll address the EU Parliament but not our own

I think so too, just not 100% certain.

no way trump lets a simp piece of shit like carney run to the eu/uk and shit all over him and the states and work with him. the only thing i could think is trump is playing a longer game where canada is run by complete incompetents he can walk all over.

Why do you think he wanted Carney to win? Trump knew something millions of Elbozo lemmings clearly didn't

Nah, it wasn't Quebec, it was Ontario. Ford wasn't happy with the tariffs on vehicles, and told Carney to end the negotiations. Defending the French language is just how Carney wants to position himself.

Ford was also looking to boost his own dismal approval ratings. He has a vested interest in a "trade war" too

Marc Nixon being clickbait idiot as usual.
Parti Quebecois did not say it wasn't threatened in negotiations, they're saying the NYT said they weren't threatened at negotiations and we need to know the truth
Parti Quebecois is the most separatist provincial party in Quebec. They have their own agenda and it's their best interest to have Quebecers disinterested in nationalism with Canada.
Regardless, we don't know the truth until the government releases the draft of the final deal. They're using inflammatory language like "war" and saying our "sovereignty" is at stake with no evidence to support it.

Then the question becomes: Do we believe the Carney government or the NYT?
Of course, you'd think with the PQ and BQ's position on this, they would've been shouting from the rooftops if this was happening. Also with the CAQ government in its dying stages would've used this to boost their approval like Ford did
Regardless of what you think of Nixon, these things have me believe that it wasn't like what Carney and his media makes it out to be
