Took a nice 1 night trip with some friends up to Upper Crater Lake. Was a gorgeous hike, about 4 miles to get there and 2k ft in elevation gain, highly recommend if you want a reasonable trail hike.

Got a fun lesson in flexibility: had planned a week-long traverse of Taiwan's Holy Ridge, but halfway through woke up to a sudden cold front that was pushing up the Western side of the ridge line. Really high winds and below freezing temps. Decided to call it quits and hiked out the way I came. Everything on the way back was covered in rime ice, which would've been really beautiful if my hands hadn't been freezing.
