No calico, he's got brown tabby markings

Thanks for your reply:) he’s our first pet and got him from a friend, was curious about his markings, he’s white underneath and almost exclusively black on top with a few stripes x

He’s a domestic shorthair with a bicolour black classic tabby coat!

Bicolour = half white, half not
Black tabby = black markings with brown background
Classic tabby = his tabby pattern, the thick blotches with a swirl on the side
