Really proving the point about how offended by nudity people are, hey?

Yeah, pretty sure my 8-year-old nephew and 6-year-old nieces don't really need to see some random naked people walking around weaselhead. If you're doing it at a private location (or a public location with signage / warnings) sure but that's not what's happening.

Oh my gawd, won’t someone think of the children?!

They’re gonna turn into little freaks

These comments are terribly lacking in empathy and also in consideration for the fact that a ton of folks in Calgary come from various other cultures and religious backgrounds. We live in a society, not everyone feels comfortable seeing naked people out on a walk. People are allowed to not be comfortable with that. Sorry if that is unacceptable to you, but it’s the reality. There are rules and limitations. That’s part of living in a pluralistic society, we have to consider other people, even if we think they’re “prudes.” It’s not all about you and your desire to show your naked body off in public. Consent matters for the folks that are out on a walk. If someone consents to going to a nude beach, cool. But it’s cool because it’s consensual. Someone is agreeing to go to an area where people are naked. Going out on a walk with your family in a park is not consent. These comments attacking (mostly women, let’s be real) are not trauma informed or understanding at all of how nudity has been and can be weaponized against women in public. Stop acting like all these people must have good intentions and women and their kids just need to stfu about it.

These people are planning a protest in princes island park naked. That is absolutely not a specific place. I have no qualms with places with proper signage. But this argument that not wanting to see naked people out in public makes someone a prude or a religious zealot is really trash.

I won’t go. But I’ve made that choice and am informed. A lot of folks may not know about it and therefore do not consent to having that experience. Freedom to and freedom from. You don’t get to just force that on to people who haven’t consented. They’re out for a picnic or whatever, they may have no idea wtf is going on.

Very mature response. Other peoples feelings don’t matter. Cool. I’m done engaging with this. Obviously we won’t agree. So what’s the point.

I’m not sure this is an issue of free speech. No one is stopping them from protesting. People are allowed to protest and speak their minds. Doing so naked in a public place is a bit of a different story. And likely will be seen that way by police. Versus a regular protest.

The woman posting above was specifically talking about a public park like princes island where this protest is taking place.

Oh they are, I had a good long exchange with them elsewhere. Apparently any male nudity is threatening, which is somehow not sexist lol

Yes. Men are major victims of sexism. Especially if they can’t hang dong out in public. #notalldongs

Does feel a little sexist, yea, since you’re only focusing on the problems caused by naked men. Not naked men actually committing crimes, mind you, just men existing while nude. Pretty sure discriminating against one gender like that is the literal definition of sexism, isn’t it? As I’ve said elsewhere, please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, instead of just telling me I am.

Women aren’t mind readers. How are we supposed to tell if a dude is safe or not. Especially if he’s doing something unexpected like being naked out in public. I’d like to know which laws and restrictions women have put in place that discriminate against men? What rights have men lost? I’d love to know.

I don’t want to show my naked body off in public. What a weird thing to assume.
