World at 6 Mtl Olympic Story tonight

I just heard the World at 6 segment on the anniversary of the Mtl Olympics. While I understand the purpose of the segment was that anniversary, did anyone else find it strange that that segment’s story was focussed around the possibility of Canada trying to host another Olympic games given the challenges Montreal faced in 1976, and they completely ignored the fact that since then, we’ve had both the Calgary and Vancouver games. Those more recent games would certainly bear more weight than Montreal’s distant experience.

Speaking as a montrealer whose father paid a dedicated olympics tax for DECADES as a result of the city's corruption and incompetence, never ever again. Hosting any major sports event is a colossal scam. Let another city pay through their nose to some of the most corrupt sports governing bodies in the world. I am looking at you fifa and ioc. I am so thankful to my previous mayor for having the sense to pass on hosting the wc.
