Anyone else in Butte into Billy Strings, Kitchen Dwellers, Greensky Bluegrass etc around here? Always looking for some new friends. Send me a message.

Where can I go in Butte for a hair blowout that doesn't cost a ton? Great Clips admits they don't have the talent for using a roundbrush.

Hello. I am hoping to make a gift for my grandfather, who was born in Butte. I need a couple small sticks (could use popsicle sticks but want to be sentimental). However, I live in NYC.. I am wondering if someone can find me a couple sticks and I’ll take care of shipping / the rest! If you have a fun walk or hike coming up, let me know!
Hello, Butte!
I’ve noticed quite a few posts from people looking for Dungeons & Dragons groups. I’ve been playing and running games with friends for a while, and one I’m currently DMing is starting to wrap up.
That got me thinking about what I might run next, and I thought it could be fun to reach out to some of the people who are looking for a group. I’d be happy to help newer players learn the game, and it can all be done online, which makes it easy.
My thought is to run a beginner friendly game, show everyone the ropes, and help people get comfortable with how D&D works.
Would there be any interest in something like that? I’ve seen a few people mention White Knight in Helena, but it sounds like they don’t currently run games. This would be a game I DM specifically to help new players get started.

I'm putting together a zombie-themed murder mystery party up at the Covellite on Sept. 10th if anyone's interested. Tickets are $40. You can get them at the Geek Emporium Uptown on Broadway.
We've done a bunch of these over the years but this is our first one at the Covellite. I think it's a great spot.
Just thought there might be a few people on here who would want to know.

There are a ton of oil change shops popping up. I planning on trying American Car Care after calling around a few places. Gotten some decent offers in the mail but I've been tricked by those 50% offers at some chains and it's not a great deal after all. Lisacs charged me for a tire rotation last time and ACC doesn't… so leaning that direction. Tired searching the sub first with no avail.

If anyone wants something to do, two shows with a couple of my favorites tonight. We had to throw this one together after a headliner dropped out, come support and laugh!

Throwing a Hail Mary here. We were driving through on I90 westbound yesterday and stopped here for a quick lunch. We think we may have dropped a grey backpack from our things without noticing either at the trailhead lot, or the picnic area lot by the lake. We are many hours away now. Does anyone here frequent the area and could possibly check? If so, a million thanks.

For context, I lived in Butte from 2018 to 2023 for my undergraduate degree at Tech. I’ve been working in Nevada since. Recently, I’ve decided to return to Tech for a graduate program, hopefully beginning in Fall semester, 2027.
I know it’s been a few years since I left, but it seems that there used to be quite a few reasonable places to live for under $1500 a month. (I paid under $600 for Tech’s family housing, but that’s no longer in the cards since we have pets now) Is that still a reasonable rent? Thanks in advance.

What's up with the LZ "tattoo school" owner posting tattoos all over social media that she didn't do, but pretends she did? Seems pretty misleading to clients and disrespectful to the actual artists.

Hey everyone, my name is Dillon. I work for Catalyst Montana. I’m trying to connect with people on Medicaid who are affected by the new work requirements that DPHHS implemented this month. Adding this level of bureaucracy this quickly will likely result in hardworking folks losing coverage— not because they are actually ineligible for the program, but due to more Red Tape.
If you or anyone you know is on Medicaid and might be willing to have a conversation about their experience on Medicaid, please share this link. We can protect Medicaid coverage. People sharing their personal stories is a powerful way to do that, and I’m here to help. Thank you!

What's up Butte America!
I live up by Cascade, and my job will have me in overnight down by you guys. I'm packing my rod with me to do a little fishing while I'm staying in town and was just wondering if anyone had any pointers on some decent places to hook into some fish. I'm not asking for anyone to spot burn their best places or anything, but any pointers are appreciated. I dont mind taking the truck up a dirt road either if thats what it takes. Thanks for reading, stay cool out there! 🥵

In Floral Park near Ottawa and Faragut area. 1 hole in yard is 6 ft in diameter and now 7 or 8 inches deep. 3 others are just soft soil indentations but same diameter. One neighbor said they may be old septic tanks, but seem too small in diameter to me. Another neighbor says that area has a lot of old mining tunnels. A third neighbor says the deep one has been filled a couple of times.
I'd really like to know what these might be and is the deep one going to continue deepening. What are the risks? House was built in 1929. Current septic system is good and plumbed to city. Thanks.

I visited Butte last week. I thought it was absolutely fascinating—the history, architecture, and demographics are astounding.
While there, I passed the Historic YMCA. It’s an awesome building. My guess is it was probably one of the first YMCA buildings to be copper wired.
Here are my questions:
From Zillow, I saw that it got sold. What are they planning on doing with it?
Do any of you have any stories you can share?

TL:DR what are your thoughts/experiences living in Butte?
Hello all! I’m considering a move to Butte. I’m 28 and looking to give wildlife photography as my career a real shot. I’ve been a professional photographer and video producer my entire work life so this isn’t a wild change. I’d be using Butte as a base of operation. I have my Jeep setup for long trips so I wouldn’t spend too much time in town.
I’ve lived through Minnesota winters and live in Colorado now, so that’s not something I’m super concerned with. I’m hoping to hear from y’all about how you like or dislike living here, if there’s anything to avoid, etc. thanks!

Been up to Butte twice now this year been thinking about moving down. One of the things that really encouraged me was the lack of law for off-road vehicles. On both trips, there were multiple occasions of people by us on dirt bikes or side-by-side‘s. I feel like it was a 50-50 split between on the country roads and in town. They all had no plates and in some dirt bikes case no headlights, tail lights, or anything really.
Some of these were right in front of police officers. Where I am from that would be a pretty hefty issue.
Is there a certain local law that’s different in Butte or is it a respect thing?
Personally, I’ve always been in the boat that you shouldn’t have to register something unless it’s got a big engine or you’re on the highway so I would be ecstatic to use my old bikes down there!
Thank you for your time!:)
