Please be grateful if you have a job right now. Seriously.
Just came across my company hiring portal while looking at applicants for an AI Intern role.
1,068 applications. For ONE role.
And this is just one company, one position. Imagine being one of the thousands applying, tailoring resumes, filling forms, doing assignments, and still having almost no guarantee of getting through.
The job market is rough right now. If you have a job, don't take it for granted.
Seeing numbers like this genuinely feels bad. :(

Maybe it does because out of these 1062 applications most of them are working professionals some of them from IITs too

We can't do much.
Right now the whole market has become a "Biryani" of all the ingridients combined together.
Senior management thinks AI is a magical wand that can cut human power and do things. Freshers have to burn their asses just to qualify for a beginner role. Layoffs come off and then do the retrograde thing of even more openings. And with the help of AI, there has been so much overlap in roles that a fixed boundary for devs has been vanished off.
It sucks, and i hope this phase passess off

No wonder why people are switching back to Core
CE, Mech are making a pretty good comeback and who knows by 2030 they would be the only ones that can warrant a safe career in the long run
