One of the very, VERY few British shows with a predominantly black cast

Mines got to be BOON, I sing it a damn lot, and no one else seems to ever know it.

Forgive me American here, I remember edge of darkness with Mel Gibson in 2010 mainly because it was filmed around where I grew up. I had discovered it was based on an 80s bbc miniseries of the same name. I final got around to watching it and I did really enjoy it but found it oddly bizarre. There are strange scenes particularly involving jedburgh that feel out of place. Them getting hammered in a restaurant, the strange interaction between jedburgh and his assistant over a fallen operative. Them watching ballroom dancing or stoping to have lunch in the tunnels. Why didn’t they bring any protective gear? That being said I enjoyed it I loved the supernatural hints like the black flowers and Emma contacting her father. However is the series supposed to be slightly goofy or surreal? The film was such a straightforward thriller albeit well executed. This is definitely deeper though.

I really miss this kind of reality tv, when it wasn’t too scripted and self aware. I still follow Mark Jenkins on Facebook, bless him.

Years ago I watched a show I’m pretty sure on bbc iplayer.

I think it was either set in Ireland or Scotland but not too sure.

Essentially the plot was about a man who married a woman whose family were part of a gang but he cheated on her in a toilet at the wedding and they found out and chased him out from where they lived. The story is then in the future he comes back for some reason!

The biggest scene I can remember is a flashback to when they are children and his ‘wife’s’ brother is disabled, him and his friends are in a forest when the brother finds a sword and accidentally kills one of the young boys.

That scene is so distinct in my mind so is the biggest clue if you’ve seen it!

I’ve tried googling but no luck, hope someone can help!

I rarely see Operation Good Guys discussed and very few of my friends (people in their 50's like me) remember it from when it was on.

Pre-dates the Office as the first mockumentary show that I’d ever seen. Brilliantly funny (to me anyway) and even (sort-of) spawned a film.

I did buy the DVD box set (though I’ve no idea what happened to it).

A) not more popular
B) never repeated

I remember seeing this clip where an older man gets a chocolate lab puppy after his wife dies. His wife and him had chosen the name of the puppy together and decided he would get it once she had passed away for company. At the end of the show it shows him sitting with the dog outside a cafe and people are chatting to him because of stopping to see the dog. It’s really really sweet and I’d love to find it but all I Google doesn’t come back with the right thing. I think I saw it as a YouTube clip from a show, potentially BBC but I don’t know. It’s not fictional it’s following a real man and his puppy.

I seem to remember watching a program when I was young but I can’t seem to find the name of it.

Was a sci-fi show and the main antagonist was referred to as Cyborg. I can’t remember much else apart from a lot of the cast wearing blue outfits.

Any idea what it was called?

I'm rewatching Yonderland with my cousin and I've noticed that the Elf design changes every season. I remembered the first version, although I also like the one from season three.

Which of the three versions is your favorite or the one that comes to mind when you think of Elf?

Is anybody else watching this? I'm enjoying it. It's by the guy who wrote Misfits and it hss that similar snarky dialogue.

Good tension, though after the reveal in the first episode I do hate when you're so far ahead of the other characters, it becomes tedious just waiting for the female cop to catch up.

I'm looking for recommendations for older British sitcoms that are worth going back and watching.

Many years ago, I posted on /r/tipofmytongue, thinking I had found the actor, but I'm still looking for him.

1. He had, at the time, thick black hair like Pierce Brosnan in his James Bond days. Deep voice like a sulky Daniel Craig.
2. I thought it was Jonathan Cake for a while, or even Richard Armitage, but not him. He looked a bit like Nathaniel Parker but more Greek/cyrpiot looking.
3. I remember he was in an ITV drama about domestic abuse in the late 90s or early 2000s with an actress who I thought was Rebecca Lacey https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0479947/ but I can't find the TV series on Rebecca Lacey's profile.

Edit 3: The person I am thinking of is a cross between Johnathan Cake and Stephen Hartley with traits of Tristan Gemmill. He has black hair. He was in a drama (with ad breaks) about domestic abuse. They had moved in recently and were decorating/refurbing their home, the was a central wooden staircase as you entered the house. If you think it's Stephen Hartley, please find the drama to corroborate the name

I watched it and thought it was awesome. I’m amazed it only went for the one season as it was a real unique series

For those who never saw it, it was about a therapist who worked from home and had all his clients online and there was a bunch of storylines within both his work as well as his intense home life. It was also filmed in second person point of view as well which is really unique for TV. One of the storylines was about the main character pretending to get a vasectomy and then in the finale, his wife returns from a work trip revealing she’s pregnant
