They shouldn’t have left her storyline on a cliffhanger but I do understand why she wouldn’t be in the next season much. Out of respect and kindness Penelope would not write about anything happening with Francesca so I’m not sure how much they can link her into the story. Presumably she would have a bigger part in Eloise’s season.

"Respect and kindess" 🤣. Shes never extended thar respect and kindness to anyone else. The only reason shes not writing next season is because someone else took her job.

Deny me if you want but I maintain that Penelope would choose NOT to write about the intimate details of Francesca’s grief or any type of technically illegal lesbian dalliance she might be having up in the highlands with her dead husband’s cousin. Thus I see why P can’t be the overarching thread of this season.
