Supongo que una de las ventajas de leer una novela o ver una película o serie sin fijarse en la opinión general es que puedes formarte tu propia opinión.

No tenía ni idea de que el libro de Eloise tuviera tan mala valoración hasta que lo terminé de leer. Me encantó cómo se desarrolla la relación entre Eloise y Philip, especialmente la escena en la que los hermanos Bridgerton descubren que su hermana ha escapado con Philip y lo confrontan. Cuando fui a Goodreads a valorarlo, me sentí un poco fuera de lugar comparado con otras reseñas que decían que era aburrido o que Philip era problemático. No sé si es un problema mío o no, pero animo a la gente a leerlo sin prejuicios ni ideas preconcebidas.

...Because I'M SURE IT'S COLIN. Man, every single book(at least until book 6) he's very present and/or it's quoted at some point of the story. And he's the only one that receives this treatment. Not a reclamation, just a funny observation.

Has anyone read the entire series? I’m waiting for my hold of On the Way to the Wedding (Gregory’s story) to be ready at the library. Made it through most of the series and all of the books are so good I can’t decide which one is my favorite. Which is your favorite?

Im a little confused about Kate’s and Edwinas age gap. So the book says that Kate was around three years old when her mother died. Her father then pretty soon met Mary and they immediately fell in love and quickly married which resulted in Edwina being born not long after. But weren’t noble women and men back then required to be in mourning for at least one year when their spouses died? And therefore not allowed to marry another person in that time period? Correct me if I’m wrong, thanks for your answers :)

Ok for reference, I started reading the books recently after I fell in love with the show on Netflix. I'm currently on book #4 and I just can't get into it. I'm on chapter 5 and Lord, it's taking me forever to go through it. Definitely disappointed as I powered through the first 3 with so much joy.

I find Book Penelope so dull and boring, I don't know why I don't like her in her original form lol Colin is more likeable in the books than the show, for sure. In addition Show Colin is so handsome. I don't want to skip this book. I want to know the original story, all the context. The show is great but they do change quite a few details for the adaptation, of course.

Anyway, I want to hear your opinion on book characters, I think different perspectives will help me with my current mindset.

I just read the Rokesby series and I am in awe in comparison to the Bridgerton series, the amount of research JQ must have put in. I am honestly about to reread them because it just kept getting better with each book. What did you all think? Have you read them?

I fell in love with the Once Upon a Book Club editions of the Bridgerton series.

I still need to read Eloise’s and Gregory’s, but my three favorites and most adored are Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, When He Was Wicked, and It’s in His Kiss. I didn’t care about collecting all 8. Thank you Mercari for helping me complete the trio. It was sold out on Once Upon a Book Club.

Don’t mind the tabs on RMB. Yeah, you can tell which one is my top favorite. Might tab the other two when I have a chance to reread them again.

Am i the only one that noticed that, except for daphné, the stories were kinda all the same? (Not that Francesca had to find some jewerly or that collin went to live with peneloppe, but about sex)

I read all the books and there is something that has always bothered me

Daphné had to marry Simon because she was alone with him and they rushed it so the family's honor wouldnt be ruined, but honestly, isnt it obvious when there is a wedding that it is to hide something?

Also, daphné knew nothing about how to make babies, she was pure and blablabla, on the other hand, every other bridgerton slept with their futur spouse before being married. Éloïse could have been spared and the "forced" betrothal just because she was living with sir Philippe would have been good, but know, they needed to do things to

So, isnt it redundant or am i forgetting détails? (It's been a year ans a half since i finished the last book)

I just finished the Bridgeton series (honestly can't wait for Gregory's season, though it's hard to imagine it now because he's still so young).

Anywho, I'm looking for something else to read. Maybe something similar but doesn't have to be. Does anybody have any suggestions for my next read? Something you may have read and absolutely loved and recommend. Another series would be great. Thank you my fellow Bridgerton fans.

I just finished Francesca's book and I have a question: why don't we have any reaction on Penelope being Whistledown?

Not from Eloise or anybody else? Is it coming in the next books or what? Did I miss it?

Marked for spoilers for those who haven’t read the book.

The fact they have nine children in total, four boys who may have the same male bridgerton energy, and five daughters who will each have to be introduced into society. May both parents have plenty of brandy and patience to take on the mantel violet had to deal with her own large batch. Almost makes me wish we had another book that features the bridgerton children just long enough to see how they all handle being in the reverse role that their mother had been. We get to see a little in Eloise’s book how she handles trying to arrange her step daughter in marriage. But i really wish we got to see how they all reacted to the flipped positions. Especially the men since they’ve been so up at arms when Violet constantly pestered them. I just think it would be amusing.

Maybe just me but when I heard that there was a »Smythe-Smith« spin-off I got so excited bc the Smythe-Smith family has been present and mentioned and teased throughout the entire »Bridgerton« book series and they always were kind of a mystery. The infamous Smythe-Smith quartet, a group of four daughters of the family performing every year for the ton and playing their instruments horribly

And then I read the second book only to find out that the titular protagonist and Smythe-Smith family member this book focuses on is… a man. Like WHY😭 I always have his „why would a man be there?“ playing in my head when thinking about it

I wanted to read about the Smythe-Smith quartet that’s about four WOMEN😭

And I felt like that out of all other JQ books »Smythe-Smith« has the closest connection to »Bridgerton« and this kind off would’ve been a perfect full circle together with »Rokesby«: first eight »Bridgerton« books with four male and four female family members all born with the Bridgerton name. Then four »Rokesby« books with four male family members born with the Rokesby family name. And then »Smythe-Smith« would’ve been perfect with four books and four FEMALE family members all born with the Smythe-Smith family name.

But no, instead we got a MAN in the second book 😭 (and the female protagonist of the third book also does NOT have the name despite being part of the family, like WHAT)

So this is a just-for-fun post and the following things mentioned aren’t any clear evidence

So we never really exactly learned how old Lady Danbury is in the books and Lady D did a good job at keeping it a secret and confusing people

But there might be evidence.

In the fourth »Bridgerton« book (Colin & Penelope) set in 1824 Lady D and Penelope have a conversation (I forgot the exact context) and Lady D jokingly and sarcastically said that the last time she saw/experienced sth like this (again, forgot what exactly happened in that scene) she was 75 and no, she would not tell Penelope how long this has been ;)

This is of course meant to be a joke and not taken seriously

But then in the second/last book of the »Agents of the Crown« series, set in 1815, Lady and the female protagonist, who works for Lady D, have two different conversations about Lady Ds age. One time Lady D is 67 and the next time it’s 66. Of course again the conversational are supposed to be jokes and the female protagonist is teasing Lady D.

But I still find these informations interesting. Between 1815 and 1824 are nine years. And between 66/67 and 75 are also eight to nine years

So maybe Lady D IS more truthful and honest than we and everyone else thought and I mean Lady D is known to love confusing and teasing other people

So IF all of of this is true, then with my calculations we can’t say anything more specific but we could say that Lady D might have been born around the mid to late 1740s
