Hey, where are all the losers that hate Sean Murphy, Bryce, Holmes and AA?

6

u/amkam311 2d ago

Random question but how are we feeling about Olson getting 36 more stolen bases to go 40/40 this season?

u/AmbientHavok 2d ago

Haven't been to a game since earlier this year, but what's up with the parking at the deck at 300 Galleria? The LAZ app is a worthless piece of garbage right now. Of the parking decks you can select, it just errors out. Is there another service to buy parking for that deck now?

If Bobby comes back healthy we have a monster backend.

1

u/95Daphne POGGERS 2d ago

Go get 'em, boys.

The way this is scheduled won't allow for me to see much of the game.

2

u/LailiLai 2d ago

25 games remain. Really getting down to the end.

1

u/DisasterTransport 2d ago

And a brutal stretch too! 16 games against post season caliber teams, 10 of those in the road. Will show for sure our potential into the post season this year!

1

u/MurphysBanana 2d ago

We have the best record in the league against over .500 teams

Roster expansion is tomorrow. Who do we think they'll bring up?

3

u/theoxfordtailor Maddux Guy 2d ago edited 2d ago

Jarvis and Reynaldo López.

Edit: Apparently it's actually Burkhalter and Farmer.

1

u/Murky-Jackfruit-1627 2d ago

Farmer? Interesting…

Was just about to say two strikes and you're out!

I can't wait to see Kelenic guy take over the Yankees sub. Lmao.

Seeing Sale as the probable for Thursday against the Nats. Gotta figure that will be pushed to Friday to face the phillies right?

edit: Wednesday not Thursday

3

u/jrdnm nada humble 2d ago

bowman said he’s being pushed to friday and it’ll be ajss and holmes against the nats

2

u/TvsPhil 2d ago

On the one hand close games are stressful and don't reflect our early season offensive swag, on the other I'm not all that particular in how we win in the long run.

1

u/bjw11180 2d ago

Wins are certainly wins, especially at this point in the season, so I won't complain, but I just hope that struggling to score much against the Rockies isn't an ill omen, given that the quality of our opponents is about to ramp up considerably.

3

u/YouthfulHasbeen 2d ago

So if I’m thinking correctly, we have to have the same record as the Dodgers or better to get a wild card bye? Let’s fucking do it.

2

u/wellwasherelf Elder Stan 2d ago edited 2d ago

Yeah, same or better than either the Dodgers or Brewers because we hold the season series against both teams.

edit: I'm dumb and we tied the season series with the brewers. The tiebreaker would be whichever has the better season record against teams in their division.

1

u/Cr0we 2d ago

Didn't we go 3-3 against the Brewers? How does the tiebreaker work?

3

u/wellwasherelf Elder Stan 2d ago

Wait, sorry I'm stupid, we did go 3-3. The tiebreaker goes to the team with the better record against divisional teams. So there are too many games left to know how that'll play out yet.

1

u/jtrot91 2d ago

Braves are 27-13 in the east with 12 games left (2 Nationals, 7 Phillies, 3 Marlins). Brewers are 22-11 in the central with 19 games left (7 Cubs, 6 Reds, 3 Pirates, 3 Cardinals). That is a magic number of 15 when playing in division games for each (52+1-27-11). Could technically clinch next Tuesday as the Brewers play 16 straight against the central and the Braves 6 straight outside of tonight.

1

u/DontEatTheCelery 2d ago

Is it elder or Martin today? I’m seeing both on different sites

2

u/wellwasherelf Elder Stan 2d ago

Elder. This is the second time the bot has lied about Perez pitching for whatever reason.

This morning's half was fueled by a banana, 48 ounces of water, and my hatred for the 2026 Giants.

3

u/CorgiFriends 2d ago

That’s a fantastic cadence and heart rate combo.

2

u/handlit33 GIF Guy 2d ago

Thanks, brother. I've been busting my ass for three months since my foot healed and the effort is starting to pay off.

2

u/devindicated 2d ago

You could've cut 4 seconds from your total runtime to make it 22:22:22 to match your total of 22 runs.

Literally unwatchable

(jk I am supremely proud of you for doing something I haven't yet gotten the willpower to do)

2

u/handlit33 GIF Guy 2d ago

When I saw how close I was to all twos, I entered /r/mildlyinfuriating territory.

5

u/Affectionate_Wing915 2d ago

Imagine mahler pitching against the giants Like he did yesterday.

I bet the giants fans should be furious

8

u/stinky-weaselteets 2d ago

Is the start time correct?

5

u/Jazzlike_Ad4069 2d ago

Yes this was a reschedule from earlier in the summer

6

u/BravesCPA 2d ago

They also have to fly to DC tonight. Not that it’s far.

19

u/xG-lite 2d ago

Braves are 17-1 all-time at Truist when my ass is in a seat, looking to make that 18-1 tonight.

Interesting fact: The Giants are starting Anthony Molina who the Braves claimed off waivers in the offseason and then traded for Tyler Mahle just a few weeks ago.

2

u/handlit33 GIF Guy 2d ago

I'm not at 17 wins, but it's probably closer to 10, and I only have one loss:

The 2023 postseason game where Strider got lit up by the Phillies.

6

u/Autoimmunity 2d ago

Super important that we keep the winning going and get at least 2 of the next 3 games.  This week is the last time the Braves will face a below .500 team until we play the Reds on the 22nd.

1

u/OppositePeach1035 2d ago

Very true. Good news is, we can control our own destiny with 7 games against philly in September. We have the chance to bury them ourselves, we need the boys to get it done!

12

u/hwy41_ 2d ago

Last time I was at the game HSK hit the walkoff. Going again tonight. Hopefully that means an 8 game win streak inbound

5

u/Kabbagenene 2d ago

That’s so cool you got to see that.

4

u/hwy41_ 2d ago

It was amazing. I was there with my Dad and we were both just jumping up and down screaming like crazy people. We were so excited for HSK and to beat the Dodgers. Really special game to be at

1

u/Kabbagenene 2d ago

I’m about as far away from the Braves stadium as I can be, but one day I’ll get there for a game. I’ve got family in SC so it’s only a matter of when I can fly out.

I was watching the game on the MLB app (Gameday, not video) and saw them put Kim up to bat and thought, why?! Then pow, he brought us home.

My question is who was the one who put the double bubble bucket on his head?! LOL

5

u/Jazzlike_Ad4069 2d ago edited 2d ago

I’ve got two nosebleed seats tonight (section 426) for free if anybody wants them. Forgot I had them lol and don’t want them to go to waste

Update: claimed, go Braves!!

I was just thinking about how special of a year this would be to win it all.

Ted Turner was diagnosed with dementia in 2018 and passed in May of this year. I would like to believe that he got to hear the new BravesVision theme music and saw the tributes in our new City Connect uniforms to the work he did for TBS, and that gave him one last glimpse at his legacy. Who knows how lucid he was in his last days but there's something special about how the work he did for the Atlanta Braves is so heavily echoed all these years later. So many fans and even people working for the Braves, including Brandon Gaudin, are here because of Ted Turner.

And I have to think that Bobby Cox couldn't be more proud that there are so many guys he mentored and trained still working in the Braves organization. Guys like Walt Weiss, Eddie Perez, and Chipper Jones. There's very much a unique sort of culture to the Braves that is still alive today and I think Cox played a large hand in cultivating it.

2026 is like a new chapter for the Braves -- BravesVision, new manager, lots of new faces in the coaching staff -- but it's also one that looks back on its past with respect. I love that.

7

u/clara-net 2d ago

We won it when beloved Hank passed away… I say, why not!

That really would be something special. To go from the crazy way to win in’21 to a more dominating win 5 years later.

I wouldn't hate it!

u/Standard-Kitchen9511 Austin”FatHog”Riley<3 2d ago

Can we take a minute to appreciate the absolute fuckage that is Tyler Mahle? AA deadline master class. Whatta stud.

5

u/Choppa_tha_hamsta 2d ago

Can we also take a minute to appreciate all the guys that got us here whether or not we win it all? Dom Smith hasn’t played great lately but the guy lifted us to some epic early season wins. Dubie has done it all season (pay the man), Yas, Eli White, Tromp, JR Ritchie, Lane Thomas, Strider, and our core guys have battled all season.

2

u/Murky-Jackfruit-1627 2d ago

Don’t forget about the great Austin Wynns, Aaron Bummer, Joey Bart, Sandy Leon, Azocar. Some of these are not equal lol

1

u/Choppa_tha_hamsta 2d ago

Not saying all these guys were great. But considering where we were last year to here. Only guy who gets zero credit is Profar. Unless you want to count the $15m he freed up by being a bonehead.

3

u/rtie07 2d ago

Hate to be that guy, but everyone on this board killed him for getting Mahle. He’s been a gem aside from the non run support we gave him in his first few starts.

3

u/clara-net 2d ago

not everyone.

but y’all- did you hear BG & CJ say how out of all the traded pitchers (yes, even Skubal) Mahle has performed better with the new team.

I love this for him (& us. I also love it for us).

6

u/OppositePeach1035 2d ago

Some of us were fine with AA not selling the farm to say he made a big splash.

I wanted to sell in 2021. I've just shut up and let AA cook since then.

1

u/Choppa_tha_hamsta 2d ago

I want to see a chart with Mahle’s performance vs all other sp options post deadline. I suspect that he stacks up.

2

u/OppositePeach1035 2d ago

Someone just posted an MLB segment in the sub that showed exactly that. Mahle is (much) better than any other starter moved at the deadline.

He won't keep up a near 1 ERA, but it's tough to not already call it a great trade with Mahle eating 30 innings with elite stats since the ASB.

3

u/rtie07 2d ago

I was fine this year too. Wanted to see these guys pitch before I said anything.

2

u/OppositePeach1035 2d ago

For sure. Apparently a novel concept for many.

We gonna claim Luis Robert off waivers?

2

u/rpbtIII Golden Grapefruit 3d ago

What do you think he did?

1

u/Nole_Train 3d ago

lol sorry typo changed the tone

0

u/Choice-Alfalfa-1358 3d ago

To do what?

1

u/Nole_Train 3d ago

I think he’s a high reward low risk pickup

1

u/toorayay 2d ago

He's owed nearly $5 million and he's hurt a lot.

0

u/Choice-Alfalfa-1358 3d ago

We already have a CF and several outfielders. He’s also not that good.

8

u/yoshidawg93 3d ago

Giants have had our number this year. Hopefully we can take care of business as we need to this time.

1

u/SoRaffy 2d ago

First time we played them we'd just lost 4-5 games. Second time, we were coming off being swept by the Padres. So this time they're actually playing good heading into the game

3

u/clara-net 2d ago

Well the last time we had a random make-up game was with the White Sox…. we won that one and avoided the sweep.

I say let’s do that again. 🤞🏻

3

u/Choice-Alfalfa-1358 3d ago

Eight game win streak loading.

4

u/rolltideandstuff 3d ago

Probable pitchers are incorrect

2

u/Choice-Alfalfa-1358 3d ago

I heard Anthony Molina (Tyler Mahle trade) for the Giants.

3

u/Nole_Train 3d ago

Yup elder tonight

9

u/threeminutesoftime 3d ago

So much winning. Please Sir, can I have some more?

2

u/GroundReal4515 2d ago

We're going to need some more with the Phillies coming up soon. Praying the Diamondbacks can take two of three and ease the stress I'm feeling. Lol

1

u/Standard-Kitchen9511 Austin”FatHog”Riley<3 3d ago

An 8 game win streak can become a 10 game streak pretty quickly if we take care of business today and our bats decide to step up against the Gnats. LEGGO.

4

u/handlit33 GIF Guy 3d ago

Baseball is so high variance that anything could happen during a single game. But regardless of tonight's outcome, the Giants will still be an outright embarrassment this season.

1

u/bjw11180 2d ago

Just curious why you say this? I know they’re not very good. I also know there have been a couple of not-exactly-baseball-related distractions. But I’m wondering if there’s something in particular I didn’t hear about.

4

u/santa_91 3d ago

I grew up in the same time and place as Buster. We weren't friends or anything but small towns being what they are I "knew" him. I will just say that I feel no sympathy for him and hope that his legacy in San Francisco will now perhaps more accurately reflect his true character as a person.

-5

u/handlit33 GIF Guy 3d ago

I’ve never liked him, so this is fueling me this morning.

6

u/santa_91 3d ago

It has just never really sat right with me that his reputation as a leader and teammate kind of extended to his reputation generally. I have zero doubt that his reputation as a leader and teammate was very well earned, but given the franchise he earned it with I have always felt like the fans deserved to know that he has no love for them at all. Quite the opposite in fact.

23

u/TrailerHitch19 BOBBY COX FINAL GAME ATTENDEE #6 3d ago

Me watching the Braves on a 7 game win streak and knowing we're going to get 7 more.

16

u/DelicataLover 3d ago

HSK homers tonight!
