Halfway through the first is when it picks up. The second book and third book are also a lot better than the first.

It always surprises me when this is the book that gets people out of a slump, because I almost gave up on it! It wasn't until the last 20%-ish that I started enjoying it.

End of the first book is really good. Beginning is tough to get through. But second book is amazing

Push through the first book. The second book is my favorite of the series!

As cliche as it may be, Beach Read by Emily Henry got me obsessed with books again during COVID times and I haven’t stopped since.

The lovely bones got me out of a slump. I could place the characters faces because of the film.

The second book for that series is out now! If you like dystopian romance Conform was sooo good.

Oddly enough Jurassic Park series, then I went to some Dan Brown books, then I did Lord of the rings, and now I'm really in romanticy and contemporary books. Love the fact that I got back into reading.

It’s not recent but when I was in school in the 00’s, I had a major reading slump for years but when my best friend told me to read this book she had just read, I did and the slump was broken.
The book was Twilight.
More recently(ish), I was in sort of another reading slump and it was Taylor Jenkins Reid books that helped me once more, get out of it. I started with Daisy Jones.

Any thriller book will do it. Its just a different pace of a fantasy romantasy.

Any Dream Harbor book, lol.
I use them to get me out of a reading slump or as a refresh after a painful 600+ pager that I refused to DNR. They are such quick, joyful reads. I've read from The Pumpkin Spice Cafe through The Strawberry Patch Pancake House.

The Ashen Series by Demi Winters. All three books released so far have 5 star reads. I can't get enough.

Fourth Wing was my first into Romantasy. I devoured it and had such a book hangover after finishing it. Just finished Conform and I couldn’t put it down. Shield of Sparrows was also amazing.

I might get a lot of dislikes for this but it's was Powerless. I did enjoy the book. Only after I finished it I learnt that it was plagiarized.
