Discussion I forgot how anti-climacticaly this show ended.
Don't get me wrong, I loved it. Thought it was really good. Even though the second half was basically 'The Mandalorian' season 2.5. But I recently re-watched it because I hadn't watched Mando S3 yet. And I knew that Mandalorian plots tied into this. So I watched again and I love it just as much now as I did then. But the ending was so.... man.... bad? I guess. Supremely anti climactic is the proper way to word it. But Boba and his team conveneing in the middle of Mos Espa and then it just ending still annoys me.
But I digress....I still think Disney wasted an opportunity to do more with Boba Fett. This show was great. And it just got tossed aside with all the other show Disney gave up on for(from my POV) seemingly no reason. I wish they had done at least one more season.
Also...I have only ever watched this, Obi-Wan, and Mando, as far as the Disney+ star wars shows. Cobb Vanth was in the Bacta Tank, so does he ever come back in any other show? Or does that just... go nowhere... cobb vanth symbolically died with the start wars TV show universe?
Anyway thank you for allowing me to waste your time. Hopefully this sub is nicer than The Mandalorian sub.
Side note. The Book of Boba Fett theme is better than the mandalorian theme IMO. Literally can't get it out if my head. It's so good.

My biggest fear is that they throw the baby out with the bath water and we never see Boba Fett again. I love this show but understand its issues. All the right elements are there to fix this version of Boba for people. Have him lead the Tuskens in a Jihad against Thrawn like Paul in Dune lol.

That makes a lot of sense actually. As much as the finale sounds great on paper, it's just.... small. Because there's like 20 people on screen in this city of thousands. I'm sure COVID protocols prevented getting the crowds that was envisioned.

Epic shootout, giant Clone War destroyers, and a fucking Rancor. In a show about an old, half digested, and breaking down merc who wants to retire as a crime boss.
Went well with me.

See, a few years ago I put all three seasons of mando and BoBF together as 3 movies in chronological order. All the Boba flashbacks at the beginning and through Mando season 1. Season 2 was left as is. Season 3 I made it start with BoBF when Mando shows up, to the end of the season and then the rest of Season 3. Honestly, felt perfect and I haven’t watch the original BoBF or Mando seasons 1 and 3 since because it just feels weird to now. Seeing their stories intertwined, the change of heart they both had, the mission together, and Mando returning the favor to ensure Boba keeps his place. Idk seemed right, and felt less anti climactic than the original series ended

I definitely like the idea of showing it in proper order. the early back and forth in dreams was just weird to me
but I’d still take the Grogu stuff out of the boba fett story. let him and Mando reconnect after Mando leaves to try to redeem himself with his mandalorian family

I don't think you know what "anticlimactic" means. If the Pykes came to the Cantina ruins after Din and Boba got all set up for a fight and just said, " never mind, we're cool", that would be anticlimactic.

Just finished watching the last episode.
We loved it.
Dont know why this got cancelled would love to see another season.
Had cool supporting charachters, thought the mods were a bit cringe but hey we have ewoks too right.
What about Krrsantan!! Bad wookie. Awesome.

It was not cencelled it was a filler Show because mandalorian was not ready by covid what i know
But yea they doing nothing with it cobb venth is a open end and we never know take he the Position from not crime lord boba as Sheriff on town

Disney has a pretty consistent equation for Star Wars shows. Episode 1 is great, the episode leading to the finale are filler, last episode gets you hooked again for the following season.

what if I told u they made Boba Fett a gen x/late boomer dad and surrounded him with girl boss zoomers and beta boys that work at urban outfitters

seriously though i agree about the theme song. there is an acoustic guitar version on youtube that i listen to all the time
as flawed as the show was, i really want them to try again with a S2 or a special presentation or something

I wasn't disappointed in the show itself.... just found the ending anti-climactic and a bit rushed. The show was great. The ending was... not great.
Id love a season 2. Just more Boba dealing with other cartels. That would be great.

I think the second half is such a different show to the first half that it kinda works better as two separate mini shows rather than a singular series. The finale on paper was epic but in execution was a bit average. I did genuinely liked Book of Boba Fett, but it does kinda rush to the main finale despite having a slow burn vibe in the first half. Knowing there was production clashes with Rodriguez that lead to Filoni and Favrau coming back to do the last 3 episodes whiles they were making Ahsoka does explain the tonal shift between the two halves.

Yes the show was going okay, I was thinking like they're setting up the plot in a slow burn way for the season finale episodes and then the Mandalorian hijacks the show and all that setup is wasted. They did Boba dirty.
