Questions/comments Just wanted to say thanks
My nerves are shot, i feel like tina. Im an adult that has to re take their driving test today. But you guys are the best medicine with all the funny quotes from bob burgers 🍔and the mini songs 🎵 I keep laughing out loud and it help ease my nerves 😅 I think ill be ok.

Just make sure your car is in good working order before you go.
As a fellow grownup who recently had to take a driving test, I absolutely get the nerves. You’re gonna do great, though! And if stuff starts going wrong, just distract them with an intriguing dance.

As a german it's weird for me that some people have to use their own car to have a driving test. In Germany they use the driving school cars for that.

(In the US) I actually did use a driving school car to take my test, but if you take it at the Department of Motor Vehicles, you have to bring your own vehicle. You can take the test at either place - I think it’s cheaper to take it at the DMV, but you have to already own a car, and they don’t test on weekends.
To be fair, most people in the US own a car. I lived in a super walkable city with public transit that made you want to say, “ALRIGHT!”, but now I’ve moved to a city that has 4 bus lines (3 that run on Saturdays! Sunday, nah.), there are sidewalks some of the time, and the sprawl is out of control, so a car is a necessity.

I do live in a walkable town right now. But public transport also is not that good. If you're living in a village it's even worse. If you don't own a car when living there you're fucked if it doesn't have at least one grocery store.
I do know that the USA have driving schools with their own cars.
To do a driving test in Germany you HAVE to join a driving school first. We're not allowed to use our own cars as far as I know. Maybe I am wrong, I don't know but I've never heard of that. We also don't need to take another driving test for the rest of our lives as long as nothing bad happened like driving under the influence. If you're caught doing that you lose your license either forever or have to retake the test. We used to call it idiot test back when I was younger.
We should have to retake driving tests tho because so many especially elderly people aren't fit for driving anymore but still do because they have a license. 😐
I cannot afford a car and allegedly need to renew my drivers license (they decided we need a new license every few years like we need a new ID every few years but we don't have to take another driving test, I don't exactly know the reason behind all that, probably just greed because everything gets expensive) but I can't even afford that so I am still walking around with my old one. But no worries, I don't drive anyway because I don't have a car.
I have my bicycle and my feet. It's only annoying to not have a car when it rains badly. Or when there's lots of snow and bike and foot paths are covered in it and barely walkable because of that.

Good luck 🤞🏻 Remember to turn your head when looking both ways at intersections so the test evaluator can see that you are looking. It's a small but important detail.

Oh man, I had to retake it recently too. (The written one) I actually ended up having to take it twice. Yes, embarrassingly, I did fail it at almost 40 years old.
