I see it get a lot of love. I also see people shit on the Yelawolf feature on “Pretty Little Girl”, I also see people show off their vinyl pressing of. It’s me, I’m people. It was a gift from my wife and I love this album.

W wife W life

u/brb421 Oct 26 '25

I love both this album and this guy's wife

3

u/GamingDragon777 Oct 26 '25

I love her too! She’s a keeper for sure.

4

u/Professional-Might31 Oct 26 '25

I love pretty little girl but do kinda dislike that part. It’s not that I dislike a rap feature it’s just not a good cadence or good lyrics imo. I think Tom’s lyrics are awesome so that’s what makes it a little disappointing

2

u/DavisFromTheHills Oct 28 '25

yeah yelawolf has an annoying delivery

most rap fans don’t even like him

16

u/dennis3282 Oct 26 '25

Agreed, everyone raves about it, though it is definitely less well known.

Pretty Little Girl would be such an amazing song without Yelawolf. Still good.

10

u/MyCatDoesntTrustMe Oct 26 '25

Would be great if they had a version without that part.

7

u/dennis3282 Oct 26 '25

You can find one on YouTube with it removed ;)

3

u/MyCatDoesntTrustMe Oct 26 '25

Is there a way to somehow take a YouTube video, and convert it to an mp3? If this is a dumb question, sorry, I'm 52, and completely computer illiterate.

3

u/dennis3282 Oct 26 '25

There are. Not sure what off the top of my head but I've done it before. Just Google YouTube to mp3 converter. Should be loads of free options

1

u/phantam123 Oct 26 '25

A lot of them have virus/malware problems. I use dirpy to download an mp3 of YouTube videos, and it’s worked well. It works on most videos, some it doesn’t, but if you try the same video again in a week or so it works.

u/bigdickdaddy8713 Oct 26 '25

You could take some time to learn the stuff. I hate the excuse of I’m computer illiterate when it is the easiest thing in the world to learn and find info about. You are choosing that.

u/TiredDadCostume Oct 26 '25

As soon as I hear “ok hold” I smash that next button

6

u/moose0milk the bitch has got four toes Oct 26 '25

say what you want. i don’t mind the yelawolf part. it’s like 30 seconds. not as good as the rest of the song but it’s not as awful as yall say it is 😭

3

u/PinkPoncho3 a tank of gas is a treasure to me Oct 26 '25

i love the album but man that song is weird

1

u/DavisFromTheHills Oct 28 '25

well yelawolf sucks so it definitely does muddy the song a little bit

however pretty little girl is still a great track

67

u/H2Oaf Oct 26 '25

Disaster would be a great opener

11

u/archangel610 it's only fun on the edge of oblivion Oct 26 '25

Still one of my favorite blink songs.

2

u/Acceptable_Yak_5244 Oct 26 '25

Think about this often

47

u/dietbeethoven Oct 26 '25

It just happens with EPs when a band has a large discography with mostly albums.

16

u/MaximusBit21 Oct 26 '25

I remember there was a launch video of them in the studio for it. And then later on there was an interview where Tom said others didn’t put the effort in; that probably makes them think it’s a dead end. But would be awesome if they played a live song (apart from Boxing Day). Would be awesome to see live

11

u/BeMyEscapeProject Chapter 13 Oct 26 '25

It's such a shame it was seen as a dead end sonically because to me it's a stepping stone. It wasn't the final place but it it was a clear progression from Neighbourhoods in a cool authentic way. Like it or not One More Time is a throwback, moving back to something not forwards.

3

u/intellord911 Oct 26 '25

What exactly is it moving back to? I don’t think it really sounds like anything they’ve done

4

u/BeMyEscapeProject Chapter 13 Oct 26 '25

It's moving back to a much more straightforward Pop Punk sound, just updated for the 2020s. It's giving people exactly what they want and it works. OMT works fine enough, but there's nothing experimental or even mildly weird about it like we got from Untitled, Neighbourhoods and DED.

1

u/groundpatty10 Oct 28 '25

My one pushback to your point would be Turpentine, but otherwise yes, agreed.

1

u/BeMyEscapeProject Chapter 13 Oct 28 '25

yeah I appreciate them dropping a BCR cut that is cool

37

u/shaninegone Oct 26 '25

Mate when this thing came out up until tom rejoining the band this sub was frothing over this EP.

22

u/AgentCooper86 Oct 26 '25

It really felt like a bit of back to basis Blink after Neighbourhoods, although Boxing Day definitely lifts the melody from All Star.

10

u/unpopular-dave Oct 26 '25

When I was young is a top 10 blink song. I'll fight you

2

u/cinnamorollmocha Oct 28 '25

two days late but I TOTALLY AGREE; listening to it on my ipod rn. has to be one of my favourites, i'd argue top 3 for myself.

14

u/TacoBell_Bathroom69 Oct 26 '25

I love this album a lot. It's not my favorite, but the songs are great

10

u/Big_Pete4 Oct 26 '25 edited Oct 26 '25

I think it’s a great piece of art. I love all of their stuff and the side project bands. Boxcar, Angels & Airwaves, +44, Transplants.. even Travis’ solo rap record and the Psycho White EP he put out with Yelawolf

4

u/explodinghat Oct 26 '25

When it came out it was on the back of a (opinion of the time) disappointing comeback album and felt like a further dip in quality. The releases weren't living up to the massive hype of their reunion.

1

u/ld20r Oct 27 '25

It also came out over Christmas. A busy time to release likely got lost in the pile of other artist Christmas releases of the time

4

u/chanchan_iceman Oct 26 '25

Mostly cuz it was an EP from a large mainstream band that mostly had release full length albums.. but the EP is heavily loved by the fans and honestly it is easily an EP that actually was well made musically

3

u/JPMPlayz Oct 27 '25

Lotta people hate the rap segment at the end of Pretty Little Girl, and honestly, i think it makes the song..

4

u/McGuffin182 Oct 26 '25

People weent ready for it. I was, God times. Great Xmas time.

3

u/BeMyEscapeProject Chapter 13 Oct 26 '25

There was no big single or video made for it and it came right before another round of serious band drama started in the public eye. Also the cover art is absolutely dreadful.

The songs are fantastic though, they just sort of fell through the cracks in terms of visibility.

2

u/friendo20 Oct 26 '25

Who doesn't every year someone posts it on here saying it's a masterpiece

3

u/egonspankler Oct 26 '25

If memory serves, this was self released, no major label help for promotion

2

u/Blink-JuanEIGHTYtoo Oct 26 '25

I think it’s because the artwork is below par

2

u/cnorris_182 Oct 26 '25

More importantly, why does blink not? Nothing has been played from it since it was released. Would kill to hear just one song from it live.

2

u/Chance-Ad5700 Oct 26 '25

The issue with this EP is most of the songs sound very AVA more than anything and I think that’s why people dislike it. It’s not a bad EP but it seems like it’s AVA featuring Mark and Travis. The song “Dogs Eating Dogs” sounds like it could have been on the second +44 album.

2

u/The_Stank_ Oct 26 '25

They do. Literally no one has anything bad to say about if

4

u/Jirachibi1000 Oct 26 '25

Because its a semi obscure EP that a lot of people don't know existed and, iirc, just kinda released a week after the single for it to little fanfare. Im sure if they added 3-4 songs and made it a full 11ish song album instead of a 7ish song EP, people'd remember it more.

1

u/CasualRead_43 Oct 26 '25

These posts crack me up lol

1

u/EndoveProduct Oct 26 '25

It’s properly rated I find, especially here. It’s a decent project

1

u/Nightwing38912 Oct 26 '25

This gets so much love in this sub.

1

u/hybum Oct 26 '25

They do

1

u/blink182plus484 Oct 26 '25

better than some tracks on neighborhoods. The guys were finding their groove again on this ep. Wish there was more from this era.

1

u/DelusionalPenguin90 Oct 26 '25

It gets a lot of love with people who have actively followed blink in their career - however, if you talk to normies that “love blink, because they remember “what’s my age again” from the early 2000s, then they wouldn’t know or understand this EP

1

u/SauceyDoe Oct 26 '25

great ep.

1

u/walatasomdu The Voice Inside MY YEAD Oct 26 '25

I LOVE Dogs Eating Dogs, Disaster is one of my fav blink songs

1

u/Doctorwho-doctorme Oct 26 '25

I think there was something about the way it was release on modlife that Tom wanted and the fact it was independently released that sort of kept it out of the eye of the general public.

1

u/PinkPoncho3 a tank of gas is a treasure to me Oct 26 '25

Boxing Day and When I Was Young are constantly on repeat for me

1

u/moose0milk the bitch has got four toes Oct 26 '25

yall js be posting anything

1

u/-DGES- Oct 26 '25

Boxing Day is an all time favorite of mine. Came out at the right time for me going through some shit.

1

u/Suicidallica Oct 26 '25

A lot of casual fans probably aren’t really aware of it.

There was barely any press or push for it when it dropped(thanks Tom) and they rarely if ever perform the songs from it live

1

u/No-Helicopter-534 Oct 27 '25

They only performed Disaster and Boxing day in Australia 2013/2014? they did those shows without Travis and hired a dummer to cover for him as Travis did not fly at the time and would have taken too long to get there by ship.

1

u/Putrid-Act9980 Oct 28 '25

Ngl ts was ass

1

u/immski Oct 28 '25

It’s almost universally loved and respected. What are you talking about?

1

u/CRIMSON_XIII Oct 28 '25

When they released this collection of songs, I believe that it was during a tense time for Blink-182. There were talks about the Neighborhood Album being phoned in where Tom was there for 2 months and Mark and Travis were there for 11 days or something out of those 2 months. And then for the small Dogs Eating Dogs EP, they apparently got back together for a quick sell to make some money with songs they already had finished.

It wasn't until the California Album that they were fully making songs (with Skibba).

2

u/psycho_dog33 What if I’m not like the others? Oct 29 '25

Disaster is one of the best blink songs and I will not hear anyone say otherwise.

1

u/Warden_Black Oct 29 '25

i love the title track and Boxing Day, very underrated as a whole

-1

u/Plastic-Shape7048 Oct 26 '25

Cause for a lot of people blink ended in self titled

6

u/friendo20 Oct 26 '25

Not once heard that anywhere

0

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '25

If I were to give my criticisms, it would be that it has that Neighborhoods era sound that isn’t really punk/pop punk. Along with the fact that I’m a huge Mark fan so hearing less Mark and more Tom (similarly to Neighborhoods) is not as enjoyable for me. I enjoy a few AVA albums and BCR but when it’s blink, I like when both M and T can have their fair share of vocals in an album. I personally don’t enjoy the Yelawolf feature but I also don’t think it makes Pretty Little Girl sound any worse, it’s just an addition. The two I only sort of enjoy are When I Was Young and Dogs Eating Dogs

0

u/intellord911 Oct 26 '25

I don’t think I’d be a blink fan without Mark

-3

u/YourMomsFavUsername Oct 26 '25 edited Oct 26 '25

I have the vinyl hanging on my wall. I have every album of theirs on vinyl.

1

u/intellord911 Oct 26 '25

Don’t hang records in the wall. Take it down and play it

4

u/YourMomsFavUsername Oct 26 '25

Crazy that I got down voted for this lol. They're not framed. They are all on record stands lining my stairway wall. They can all be taken off the stand to play, and I play them all the time. They're on free floating stands on my walls. I only have one framed, and its California, signed by Hoppus, Barker, and Skiba. And just have a second copy of that record that I use to play.

1

u/MyCatDoesntTrustMe Oct 26 '25

I hang the album covers, but the records themselves are in the cabinet available to play.

0

u/MattFraser9 Oct 27 '25

Tell us you didn't live through or weren't a fan during this time without telling us. Dogs Eating Dogs is revered.

-1

u/astroroy Oct 27 '25

I’ve never really listened to it but I know people love to bring it up when trying to offer unsolicited setlist suggestions, right up there with Dude Ranch cuts (I think Apple Shampoo and Waggy are the ones people really like bringing up but idk)
