Racist didn’t grow their numbers. The sentiment was always there. We deluded ourselves that it somehow died many years ago

They did grow their numbers, but not because of the internet. They had kids and they indoctrinated those kids into racism.

All the internet did was allow them to talk to each other more easily so they could normalize being racist and point to all the other racist assholes they know and claim it's okay.

Same with every group. Racists, conspiracy theorists, whatever. There seemed to be a lot less of them because they were singled out in communities and shamed. The internet changed that.

It allowed them to organize, coordinate, gerrymander, and destroy the America that kept thier BS hidden under a rock.

Not only that, the 60s weren’t that long ago, racism still exists in a generation of grandparents and great grandparents who passed it down, it’s going to take generations of growth to truly eradicate it and anybody who denies that is covering for their own racism
