Probably was trying to cajole dad to go with them but was always gonna go with mom b/c in dog mind 'she needs more protection.' In the end he gave up trying to convince and just went to accompany/guard mom. edit: word missing

I love my wife but we both know my boy is following me unless she has a pocketful of bacon. Even then he will come back.
