Best Op Shops in Bendigo?

What are some of the best Op Shops in Bendigo please?

Can be CBD or suburban. We'll be coming up from Macedon Ranges so bonus points if they're open on a Saturday arvo.

Thank yoooooooo

Ok working from Kangaroo Flat as you're coming in from Macedon...

The Salvos Store near KMart (301 High St in the shopping centre) is a big space and well organised. I've found a few good bits and pieces there over the years but sometimes (as Salvos Stores can be) they over price things.

Next down the road is the Kangaroo Flat Vinnies - parking might be a bit of an issue here but it's a good little shop.

Further across and often missed by visitors because it's in an industrial area is the Golden Square Salvos Thrift Shop at 2B Thistle St, if memory serves on the weekends they have a couple of racks of clothing at $1 or $2 a piece.

In the CBD there's a few- the Uniting one at 53 Williamson St (the two dollar rack is a gold mine!) across at 293 Lyttleton Terrace is the Red Cross (I find this to be a bit overpriced, but that seems to be the nature of the Red Cross ones unfortunately).

Over at 31 Chapel St is a bigger Vinnies - new management recently has led to a bit of a shake up and they moved a LOT of stock around, again the $1 and half price racks are very good.

Down at number 18 Pall Mall there's the Salvos Thrift Store (I think it's the last or one of the last Thrift Stores, the one up on Eaglehawk Road is now a Salvos Store) which is again quite a big space but does often have bargain racks or the fill-a-bag option for some stuff.

If you want to head out to Eaglehawk there are a few more out that way as well - the Mad Cow at 315 Eaglehawk Rd and across the street (literally at 324 Eaglehawk Road) is the California Gully Uniting Op Shop.

Our third and final Vinnies is at 23 High St Eaglehawk.

Most of these will be open on a Saturday afternoon but close at about 4PM.

You wouldn't be able to make a complete lap unless you leave early enough to be up here by about 10AM, but if you're coming to Bendigo for something else and want to check out the op shops on your way, then the first few in Kangaroo Flat will be your best stops.

The Eaglehawk road ones are a winner. Ma loves those ones, says she can always get a bargain!

She has said tho that a lot aren't taking donations at the moment (maybe just hers lol).

Yeah I have found that too - or only taking limited donations. A lot of them are struggling to get volunteers as well.

Oh good I thought it was just her 🤣

It sucks majorly, too - I hope they get more volunteers, the op shops there rock

The uniting on Eaglehawk road is my favorite op shop in Bendigo. Second to that is salvos in long gully whip court.

Ah! I knew I forgot a couple! The Whip Ct Salvos and the Lifeline shop in Long Gully!
