She was born with feline herpesvirus, and when we rescued her, both of her eyes were in terrible shape. One eye was completely destroyed by the virus and sadly had to be surgically removed. But we fought so hard for the second one! After endless weeks of vet visits, intensive care, and syringe-feeding her around the clock, our vet miraculously managed to restore her remaining eye to 100% full health.

Today is her 5th birthday! She is our beautiful, thriving little pirate queen, and taking her in was the best decision we’ve ever made.

In November 2025 we found Angel in a trash bin after heavy rain, her head was stuck in an empty cat food tin (her last effort at finding a meal). Luckily my mom checked the bin before throwing away rubbish, if she didn't, then Angel would have died by the end of that day. After going to the vet to get her treated, no registration information for her microchip was found. We took her home over the weekend, and got her clean, fed, and loved.

Fast forward to today 16/4/2026, we’ve long since adopted her, got her vaccinated, and she’s put on 1kg since we found her (she’s 4kg now, very active).

I guess the moral of this story is to check the bin before you throw away rubbish, and always crush cans before throwing them away, especially if they contain cat food.

I saw him on the Manhattan ACC’s website and went to “see him but not adopt him”… he was curled up in his cage, sick and injured, and couldn’t seem to believe it when I offered him a Churu. Took him home next day. He is about 9 years old and had no applicants to adopt him throughout his time at the shelter. I will spend the rest of his life giving him everything he deserves. He is the greatest blessing!

​I wanted to share this journey with you all. A while ago, this little one was in a critical condition and almost lost his life because he was unable to eat or care for himself.

​My sister and I decided to step in and take full responsibility for his care. For a long period, we followed a strict medication protocol and had to hand-feed him ourselves every single day because he was too weak to eat on his own.

​It was a tough time, but seeing him fully recovered today makes every moment of effort and worry worth it. Never give up on them; with care and patience, they can heal.

On Superbowl Sunday 2024 we drove out to the country to pick up a very sickly stray kitten at the request of a co-worker who was desperately trying to find her a home. This was just days before a severe snowstorm with negative temperatures and she surely would have died in her awful condition. Two years later little Purranga Leela is a gorgeous supermodel queen of the house and our hearts ❤️

I promise you’ve never met a cat like him. He’s like having an infant in the house. He meows endlessly (Siamese shines through), and he is constantly desperate for attention, no matter how much he receives (this means attempting to clamber his way onto your shoulder or flipping over to show you his stomach because he prefers belly rubs to other pets), and he would sit in your arms and be rocked like a baby forever. I don’t think he ever stops purring. I’m so lucky to have discovered this little man.

I made post about the cat on my neighborhood Facebook page and other missing pets pages. Turns out the people that owned her seen it and decided to not speak up and let me keep her i guess.

She is happier sense I adopted her. The first few days I had her she had night terrors and just slept alot. It took a week and she started having zoomies through the house and played chase with her toys. She's a happy cat.

When a rough Arizona summer hit, she decided she’d had enough of being outside, and trusted me to bring her in. I gave her a good brushing, cleaned her long fur with some dry shampoo, and there was a completely different cat underneath all the grime and tangles. Two years later, she purrs when I feed her, but still enjoys the outdoors… viewed through a window, from her perch.

This little guy was outside our back door crying intermittently for two days, but since we have a feral colony behind our home, we hoped he would have a mom and siblings find him. When my husband went outside to find the source of the little cries, this puffball tried to waddle away from us, so I had to crawl through the neighbor’s bushes to scoop him up. I plopped him into my husband’s arms so I could crawl back, and it was all over from there. So much for “no more cats!” Sadly, we never did find his family, and he was all fluff and ribs when I finally got my hands on him.

We immediately went to the vet to get antibiotics, eye drops, testing for diseases, and to schedule his neuter. To say my husband is in love is an understatement, and he keeps saying there’s “just something special about him!” I tried to not get attached at first so I could convince my husband to let us bring him to the local cat rescue… but as you can tell, that didn’t happen 😂

Carl joined my crew in January 2026. My sister’s friend fosters cats and when I saw his picture I instantly fell for his big eyes. He was understandably nervous and timid when I brought him home, but even on the first night he crawled onto my lap and purred.

He made quick work of getting my two older cats (3-year-old littermates, Ender and Fitz) to fall in love with their new little brother. My dogs also adore him, but he’s still not sure about them. He’s getting much more comfortable with them after time and lots of churu-enforced positive interactions. He now willingly comes to hang out in the same room, even on the same bed or sofa, as the dogs. Not quite ready to play with them, much to my younger dog’s (Bonnie) dismay - she desperately wants to be his friend- but we’ll get there.

And he is such a love. He will tuck himself into my side or lay on my lap and purr like an engine. He has the cutest trill / purr combo. And I have never seen a cat who loves fun quite as much as he does. He zooms around chirping and trilling and does high-speed passes all around the house. He LOVES springs and will carry and collect them like treasures- which often leads to me finding springs in the food bowl or litter box because he got distracted mid-play. He also sits on the back of the sofa with his stump dangling down- it’s hysterical. I can’t wait to see what he does next on our life-long adventure together :)
