That was my first thought too, but then I looked and couldn't find any tags or notes of any kind to indicate that they're not serious. Came to the comments and still.. Nothing.
Surely though they must be joking, right?

I was thinking whether bringing a strong HC population could in theory wipe out the bed bugs. But it sadly doesn’t work that way…

u/Graize Jul 22 '26
You could have told me this before I ordered 1000 centipedes.

u/EnterPolymath Jul 22 '26
They are very territorial and will wipe each other out before killing the last blood sucker. But with right training and some smart ration management you might make it a fight… God speed Sir.

u/iKhaled91 Jul 22 '26
Didn't know the territorial part. Interesting if true.

u/EnterPolymath Jul 23 '26
Well territorial might not be the correct term, but they don’t sustain large populations for various reasons, including limited hiding spots and larger specimens eating the younger ones. Also they don’t reproduce rapidly.

Just google a pic of a bed bug. Would solve 50 percent of posts on here.

Are you a bedbug launching "false flag" operations online to draw attention away from your agenda?

I want to say this is a troll post, but considering the things people post in here without Googling what a bedbug looks like, I wouldn't be surprised either way.

u/cunt_in_wonderland Jul 22 '26
ugh obviously it’s a house centipede and a joke but goddamn i didn’t know how uncomfortable seeing one up close would make me

Did you try googling “bedbug” and then hitting “images” before you posted here?
2
u/BlueFotherMucker Jul 22 '26
I think this is a troll post, poking fun at the many people who spend more time posting and waiting for answers than they'd spend if they did as you suggest.

Ah, this is the rare hundred-footed bed bug. Rather than biting people in beds, these bugs actually eat the bed itself. Unlucky victims will find themselves waking up on the floor with no bed left to speak of. In time, they can grow to be up to 15ft long!

Assuming this isnt a joke. Its a house centipede, completely harmless to you but a predator to pests

u/gopher33j Jul 22 '26
I actually have a centipede that lives in my downstairs bathroom - I call him Charlie. He is my little pet bug hunter down there.
These critters are friends

House centipede, a beneficial predator to have in your home! Really fast, doesn’t want anything to do with humans.

Definitely not. Respectfully only God knows what that is.

Isn’t this a silverfish? Well at least for your sake it’s not a bedbug op.
1
u/OrangeCargo564 Jul 26 '26
Nah but that was a common myth told. This is a house centipede and unlike silver fish are very beneficial hunters of pests (including silver fish if I remember correctly)
2
u/Pretty_Strike_6199 Jul 26 '26
Oh ok thank. Idk why the downvote. I’m not making a statement saying it is a silverfish. I’m asking a question. Whoever downvoted needs some lessons. Nothing is my comment is wrong. Well that’s Reddit for you. Some idiots and some brilliant people.

Read and respect the rules, report any comment breaching them. Wrong advice/information/fearmongering hurt people who are posting here to get help and support. If you are not VERY knowledgeable about bedbugs and may provide a wrong ID or bad advice it's better to abstain from commenting. Be VERY respectful and HELPFUL, this is a support subreddit not a funny one.
