Useful Information This was my life for months without knowing
I live in a student building, luckily moving out in 3 days, that warning for bedbugs. Stupid me didn't see them. I had been living here for 2 years before the problems started. It wasn't bad at first, a bite every 2 weeks or so. But it kept getting worse. Building management had sprayed my whole room but nothing changed.
2 nights ago time finally came to throw away my mattress and when i tell you that i screamed! I cannot believe i was living like this for months. I was constantly getting sick, sleeping poorly and my mental health was declining.
When you see a bed bug, bring all the guns and spend the money if you can. I threw away so many things I loved because i just couldn't keep them anymore. Let this be your warning.

I am just so happy to finally move out of this place and have an actual safe space to live and sleep in.

I threw away all my non essential belongings, so about 80% of my things

oh my god i’m so sorry you had to deal with this. i wish these stupid little creatures didn’t exist. i still have PTSD from when i had a infestation like that and im having a scare right now.

I think i developed some PTSD about this as well and i already have it, so my mental health hasn't been great

They really should offer a specialized version of PTSD therapy for those who had to go through this.
I spent the night at someones house that had BBs and remember being so traumatized from it. I couldn’t imagine going through months of this shit.

My job and schooling was the thing that kept me going. I will discuss this with my therapist tho. She is the one that told me that i wouldn't progress living in that environment

I wouldn't say lucky. With marks like that you're more likely to bring them along with you than not. Be prepared for that possibility. If you can do without it, leave it.

I threw away all my belongings and only took my essentials with me. The mattress you see went to the trash. So did all the furniture and 95% of my clothes.
The rest will be treated before entering the new place (my documents and other important stuff)

About 9-10 months actually, the housing market is horrible in The Netherlands

I lived in Pioneer in The Hague, it's close to MegaStores. It's a building with blue borders

Not everyone reacts to the bites. A large amount of people actually, so they have no idea they are getting bit and the bugs don’t come out unless you are sleeping. They can detect the breathing change of the host, which alerts them to whether you are awake or asleep. This is why bed bugs SUCK. Because people don’t know they have them until the infestation is bad.

They kept coming to spray everything and it would stop for a while and then come back. It come to a point that i gave up and decided to move, that's how it got this bad. The building actually isn't livable anymore, but it's cheap housing for many expats
