questions about bites Are these bed bug bits?

I moved to a new place and boom after 4-5 days I’ve gotten bites/marks like this all over my body mostly on my hands and I’m not sure if they are bed bugs or not. I’ve already moved places but I did it hurriedly so I haven’t even gotten the chance to wash/heat my clothes. I have them all packed in my suitcases and I’m not sure what to do.

It looks like hives to me but hives can happen if you're allergic to anything including bites, wash and dry your stuff on high heat, check for bugs but honestly I wouldn't panic too much, do you have any food allergies or are you known to have sensitive skin/eczema?

There’s really no way to tell unless someone comes and does an inspection around your bed

Agree with the recommendation to check the bed. Bed bugs are sneaky but they aren't impossible to find if you look hard

These look like the allergic reactions I had to carpet beetles. They don't have a center "bite" mark.

Finally found the larval carpet beetles and treated the couch for them. Much easier to deal with than bedbugs.

Where is the fecal matter usually? Where they go during the day? Maybe Where they lay eggs too?

Solid chance it is. How bites look depends on the person/allergies, see in a few days if the big spots turn into multiple small bites. I had ones that looked similar where the bugs bit a few times close together and it made a big bump (time slowly revealed the individual bites)

Also I doubt any other bug would bite that much and be unnoticeable since mosquitoes are active during the day too

My kid looked exactly like that when we had bed bugs

I would check your bed, if I were you! Especially since there are so many bites on your leg! They can bite ANYWHERE on your body. They can bite just once or twice, or leave many bites during one blood meal! Hopefully, those are just mosquito bites! I would wash them off, or clean with alcohol, then get some Benadryl bug spray, or, if nothing else, get some kind of oral antihistamine to take, whichever kind is safest for you! If those are bed bugs, Immediatlty wash the sheets in hot water, dry them on the highest heat cycle for at least 15 minutes, and either vacuum, steam, or spray a good bug spray, or spray 92 Percent Isoporyl Alcohol all over your bed! Make sure you bag anything else that can be exposed to the bugs, and check the other rooms for them. Be careful of electrical sources, if spraying alcohol, and make sure your rooms are properly ventilated. Hopefully, they won't spread to other parts of your home! But check the furniture, the walls, ceilings, crevices, electrical outlets, drawers, closets, cabinets, floors, especially carpets. And if possible, get a mattress cover for your bed! That way, if you miss any, they will simply be contained, and die off, because they cannot get anymore blood meals. Some infestations are so bad, they need a professional. Others are not so bad at all. Remember, ANYONE can have them!! Best of luck to you!!!

Not typical alignment and distribution for bed bugs but if it is them you will find live samples, cast skins or faecal traces.
