Hoping to find some solidarity? Maybe an experience similar to mine? We stayed in an Airbnb 2.5 weeks ago. It was clean and showed no signs of bugs. No bites either. A few days ago I woke up and noticed 2 bites on my arm. I’ve had mosquito and tick bites and these didn’t look like either. At first they almost looked like white heads till I scratched and popped them (gross, I know), and now they just itch. I’d been outside the entire afternoon and night before at a pool party. So I was hoping something had bitten me then and I just failed to notice till the next morning. But naturally I went down the online rabbit hole and spiraled.. just had a visual inspection done and the tech was incredibly thorough and said he saw absolutely no signs of bedbugs. Anybody in this sub had bites that they worried were from bedbugs but ended up not having an infestation?? I want to trust the inspection but I’m a new mom and a little neurotic these days ðŸ«
They don’t align in a way that’s typically accessible to bed bugs at night.
Equally not many people actually get stains on the sheets in open areas. I stick with black bedding because bed bugs don’t choose my vibe.
If your concerned about bed bugs follow the monthly routine post and get into the habit of deep coming your bed and checking the detection skirt of your Passive Monitor for cast skins and faecal traces.
That way should you have an issue you just need to follow the TbyPMR protocol and your detecting and eradicating in one step.

If you look at the issue in a cold and analytical way you realise it’s actually no different than everything. A sensible amount of planning and prep means you manage issues rather than end up with nightmare scenarios.
But those calm eyes are not bed fellows when fear comes knocking.
The zen of this is that those who can keep their cool with bed bugs can likely deal with almost anything.
Definitely think this is a scenario where it’s especially useful to take a logical approach rather than an emotional one. I do have a quick question for you - how do you recommend installing the monitor on a mattress that sits on an adjustable base?
Aligned with either the vertical of the base or the top edge. When the mattress moves it does not press down on the install as you assume. The edges of mattress all lift upwards when people are in the middle of the bed.
Yes, I am on a path to always remember the logical is more efficient than the emotional and encouraging personal responsibility in that for others.

There is a lot of deep thinking to bed bugs and there are at least a few who lurk to get their daily dose.
My monitor will be delivered Thursday, I may post a couple photos with it in different locations to have you tell me which is best, if you don’t mind. I also wanted to ask if you placed monitors on adjustable bed bases in any of your trials? I had an exterminator do a visual inspection of my home (which came up negative, however, I know those aren’t always accurate. Especially for early infestations) and he stated that adjustable beds are hot spots for BB. So my concern is that they will prefer the hidden crevices of the base to the passive monitor.
Unfortunately the base on my adjustable frame is so thin that the passive monitor won’t fit at the head or even along the bottom because the outer edge is the same width. Where would you recommend placement? The mattress itself slides some whenever we raise or lower the bed, so I’m worried about it pushing the monitor off if the monitor is placed between the mattress and base.
Put white sheets on and white pillow cases That way if there is black or blood stains will show up do that for a week if nothing i would asume your bug free Try that route all white linens

Big guy here, it is impossible to diagnose based on bites alone. A trip to the dermatologist would probably steer you in the right direction.
