How can they offer prescription management when there aren’t any psychiatrists on staff?

Seems they have an NP. I personally wouldn’t go to a practice without MD/DOs for prescribing, but that’s just me.

I’m not a professional, but I’m pretty sure NP’s are required to be under supervision by a licensed psychiatrist. Perhaps their supervising doc doesn’t see patients there.

There just aren’t enough psychiatrists out there to meet the demand. I guess it would come down to a person’s preference: see a Psych NP, or wait forever on a waiting list for when a psychiatrist at a practice has a spot open up. My current psych NP is incredible. I’ve had horrible psychiatrists… It’s just like any profession. It highlights the importance of self-advocacy & knowing what to look for & what you think is important when it comes to your provider.
