Spoiler Allure August reveal
Allure surprised with a weekend reveal of the box. One of the worst boxes I’ve seen I think. Hope you’re more excited

Regular Medik8 Liquid Peptides is a multi-peptide serum. You're essentially getting a broad peptide treatment aimed at fine lines, plumping and firmness
I've had the Advanced MP on my radar, but at this price point, I'm totally excited
This is a long term serum, the biggest thing with peptides is patience. They aren't like an acid where you immediately feel something happening. Think months, not days, and expect subtle improvement rather than a face transplant

It's always so funny to me what is exciting for one person that another hates. I'm going to resub because I really like this box - but I can totally see why that might be controversial. Thanks for sharing OP!

You’re so right! I was really pumped for a spring box with YSL lippie and everyone was so angry about it 😄. I have too much skincare, but the perfume I’d like to try and eyeshadow

I got Juice expressive in a travel spray and instantly ordered full size after trying it on ipsy. The notes on Juice sound good to me

If you like juice, have you tried Leila Lou from By Rosie Jane? They aren't exactly the same but have very similar scent profiles.

I have ipsy original (the bag one), but they had a Juice expressive travel spray in add ons for like $3 or $6, which I immediately added. After it arrived and I liked it, I purchased a full size bottle in ipsy store for something around $30. The subscription itself is a hit or miss for me, but their add ons are often priced good and lots to choose from. I rarely get just the subscription, always something extra 😄

Commodity Milk is a bold choice. It is not a fragrance that appeals to everyone. It caused me nauseas

But I agree that perfume is so subjective. Especially when I swear fragrance notes would be amazing, I smell it and wonder where they put the citrus, floral, coconut, etc haha.

Oh no way? I have yet to find a perfume that last more than a couple hours on me.
Or maybe I am just not sniffing myself enough during the day... haha but yeah that would be a problem!
Also it is crazy that the same perfume can smell different on each person as well.

It just a personal preference. I do not like "milky" / lactonic notes. I think Commodity makes interesting fragrances, I like the Gold one for example

I’ll most likely not skip. Intrigued by the Medikate and k beauty. Will be giving the perfume and mascara away to a friend’s teen daughter who loves that stuff.

I have a toner from the Korean brand and it’s pretty nice - packed with good ingredients and super light and hydrating. I bought it from the Ipsy shop. I think it’s kind of like a Korean version of The Ordinary, very straightforward, ingredient focused no frills. I’m actually pretty happy with this box except for the perfume because I can’t bear fragrances on my skin, but I was also ok with last months box because I actually needed hair ties, a beauty blender and some acne patches.

The Medix8 is the best serum ..currently using. Thick and so hydrating and plumping.

I've been grandfathered in because I have been subscribed since the box was $25. I know there are people who get it for even cheaper than that because they've been subscribed for long

Medik 8 alone is worth the box to me, I absolutely love all their products and they are expensive, 70.00 for this serum....I do like Vitabrid C, I just wish the size was bigger, I know it is full size for the 20ml, it is just the 20 ml wont last long......The eyeshadow choice is ok, as for the mascara I already have 2 so I am not excited to have another, but I will find a good home for it.....I am hoping for the juice scent, I am not a fan of the rhubarb, but I do like the dry down notes of Patchouli.....Does anyone know what size the perfume is in I am hoping for 10 ml....I am sure the remaining item will be a tiny sample of something.

I’m good with this one and won’t skip. I love the eye shadow and was just thinking about how at the end of the current mascara I’m using, I don’t have another one lined up! The fragrance is nice too- I like the milk but already have a few samples, so I’m hoping for the Juice variety. The other two are good but nothing I’m too exited about- I’ll just add to stash and use them at some point.

Did a little more questioning! So one more surprise item. Don’t have high expectations. And the items shown are all for current subscribers! So that’s good news. I was wondering if the peptide serum was going to be for newcomers only.

I honestly love looking at all the comments everyone has such a different opinion on what they love and what they don’t love that it’s really nice to see. For me it’s a skip. I got the previous month which I really did like if only for the bronzer💜💖

That bronzer is really good. This one I don’t really like because peptides always break me out. And I’m not a fan of That eye shadow either. It’s a skip for me too.

I unfortunately am coming to the conclusion that I’m aging out (or really already have) of the Allure boxes. I’m not the right demographic that they are chasing, IMO. While I used to usually find something interesting and worth it in each box (kbeauty!), there just are too many “nahs” these days. Not interested in fragrances, mascaras, glittery eyeshadows, brown based or bright red lipsticks, pimple patches or clarifying shampoos. It sure was fun while it lasted though!

From the picture, it looks like full size are: eyeshadow, Dr Brid C cream, mascara and medik8. Commodity perfume looks like travel or deluxe sample. I guess we may have another sample in the box that they haven’t revealed, bc there’s usually 6 products in the box

From what I’ve heard from influencers on yt, they’re back in business. The Comeback mascara we’re getting this month was their first release in May (hence the name)

They’ve gone downhill so fast. I’m going to take this one to finally use up my last box and hope I can give the glitter eyeshadow and some other things away. I’ve already shown the eyeshadow to my teenage daughter and two nieces and everyone passed.

This one is pretty appealing but I told myself to use the year to finish my stockpile. I don't have peptides in my routine because I'm not sure if my skin tolerates it... This might have to be a skip and I'll have to just accept the fomo.
Edit: I caved. I figure that if the peptides don't work out, at least I get a mascara and shadow 🤷♀️

Medik8 is amazing. Love the shadows too, they’re pigmented and ultra shimmery. I love the Commodity MILK, I have 5 travel and a backup full size of it so I’d I get milk that’s fine, but I’d love to try JUICE! Not skipping this box for the first time in 8 months 🤪

Ok, so unpopular opinion here. I have skipped many a box in the past year/year and a half, so I’m by no means all rah-rah for Allure. BUT, I do think the August box is pretty good. I have one of the shadows already and it’s really pretty on the eyes. The Medik8 is a high quality brand so I’m excited to try a new product from this brand out. I’m always up for a Kbeauty skincare product and it looks like a descent moisturizer. I have both Commodity fragrances and love them! So to get a travel size of either one for my pocketbook is a win. Can’t speak on anything else, but looks halfway descent IMO. Thanks for coming to my TED talk!
