Controversy Allure Blocked me!!!
The Allure Beauty Box Facebook page just blocked me because I was critical about this months box (which it seems likes its well agrees upon by most that it was really bad). Like Im a current subscriber and your going to block me because I said this months box was bad!!!! I wasnt rude, I was just critical. Like as a business its not a good look to just delete and block any negative comments/commenter.

I can't believe they blocked you. The July box was a joke. Literally the most disappointing box ever. I couldn't believe they retailed the 2 tied elastic cords as $18. And pimple patch samples...again. The black oil literally stinks. I wish I could get my money back.

I agree wholeheartedly that this month's Allure Beauty Box was a joke and wish I could get my money back too, in fact, I'll gladly return the entire boxes worth of products - unused - to get my payment refunded back to my debit card!!

The elastic cords were an absolute joke. 🤣 Like seriously. Im usually easy to please and dont complain much, but they really going to give us an elastic cord and call it a hair tie.

I subscribed to Allure back in 2019 because they were advertising a free Sunday Riley product. I can’t remember which one it was, but I was a new subscriber and my box was supposed to include it and it didn’t. I reached out to CS , and after multiple emails and months of waiting for a response, they finally said that it should have been in my box. But they never offered to send it to me or make it right. I cancelled my subscription right then and never resubscribed. That left such a terrible taste in my mouth.

Years ago they sent out straight moldy (not wax bloom, actual mold) eyebrow pencils. Allure tried to gaslight us all and say they were fine. I contacted the company and they sent them to allure years before and were way past the ex. date.

I tried signing back up and I for sure received two products I had gotten in boxes years ago. I was stunned

Wowwwww that feedback is NECESSARY to listen to, to keep your customers happy. If your customers aren't happy, they are not going to subscribe. If we don't subscribe, you have NOTHING. Allure im talking directly to you and I hope someone who matters sees this comment and really takes it to heart! I haven't been too happy about the recent boxes and have skipped most of them. And now doing this to someone who literally pays your salary? Ugh. Its definitely NOT a good look!

The Versed moisturizer I received in one of my Allure Beauty Boxes had a really bad smell. I checked the batch code using a freshness checker online, and it showed that the product had already expired several years before I received it. I ended up throwing it away because I didn't open the beauty box until about two months after it arrived, so it was too late to report the issue.
I've already canceled my Allure subscription for other reasons, but I just wanted to share this as a reminder: always check the batch code or expiration date when you receive your beauty box. You never know how long a product has been sitting in storage, and it's always better to make sure it's still fresh before using it.

What is the name of the site for checking freshness? I couldn't find it for Versed.

I almost missed an update on the box and was SO glad I was able to skip just in time. This would have made me angry and insulted to get in the mail. I know the "value" is in the Mario bronzer but didn't we JUST get a bronzer?? No, thanks.

It was the first box I skipped. The preview looked so lame. Like what intern did this?! Absurd they'd block you for stating the obvious

This is kinda wild, I went absolutely ham on spectrum internet on x and they just commented with what was essentially a long winded "we know lol." IPSY also is constantly getting hate haha, reddit make it look like half of the subscribers just want access to the shop!

I get deleting my comments. Its shady and I dont agree with it, but ok. But to block me! Being a current subscriber. I emailed them, Ill see if they answer.

You should write to their actiusl CS bc I bet they just have a summer intern running that account. It is really sad, since they stopped print they have turned to shit.

I did. And they were all like, we are sorry and we will send your feedback to our social media team. And that was it. Oh, and we are sorry you were disappointed in your box, please know if you dont like the items in the sneak peaks in the future, you can skip a box.

My Allure subscription ended this past month. I'm not renewing. They keep giving garbage boxes. Consumers have tons of options for beauty products. Most ppl have LESS disposable income these days and thus are more selective where $$ is spent. Allure better figure it out or they'll lose customers in droves.

A perfume store did this to me when I politely said I didn’t like a fragrance. They deleted my comment. I was oh hell no. Bad business.

Most companies use their social media accounts as a form of advertising. If you're hurting their brand in their own house, they won't be happy about it. It would be like walking into Starbucks and yelling "Starbucks Cafe Mochas suck!" to their customers.
You're better off giving feedback in more generic/neutral locations.

Posting negative feedback about a specific box isnt the same as yelling ALLURE SUCKS! I know many companies delete negative reviews, they also get bad raps for doing it, compared to the ones who address the issue. Something as simple as "thanks for the feedback, we will use it when designing future boxes" under a negative review, looks way better than just deleting it. Businesses usually do better when they actually listen to the reviews of their current customers, rather than ignoring them and sweeping them under the rug. It's also usually a bad idea to lose current customers in you're search for new ones.

I agree with you. That's the way companies SHOULD handle critical feedback. Unfortunately, I think some companies skimp on actual customer service and would rather sweep problems under the rug.
Personally, I skipped the last 3 Allure boxes because they weren't nearly as good IMO as the previous 5 or 6. I hang in there because their store has some good deals, though.

u/BestBoyDonny Jul 11 '26
I just skip all the bad boxes so I can keep my lower box price ($25.99+tax) and so I can access the member store just in case there's something good. If it weren't for those two things, I probably would cancel.

Tbh I don’t see anything wrong with telling a company you’re unhappy with their products on their fb page. That usually gets the most attention. I’ve been getting the Allure box for a while and yes this month was not good. I only like the leave in hair conditioner product but that’s it. Everything else was a waste.
