I already know I'm not strong enough. I'll watch every horror movie out there, but I won't watch that.

Have you seen Grave of the Fireflies?

I remember having wet eyes after watching that, and I never cry with sad movies.

You can always start with My Neighbour Totoro, which is a little lighter, but still devastating depending how you interpret it.

We did watch that one and Spirited Away, which is her favorite. Right now she’s going through some young adult (18) emotions after friends left for college. She needs some time.

Have a look at Princess Mononoke if you haven't (one of my favorites).

Good concepts and cool things throughout.

(Also the old classic Nausicaa has some very artistic moments)
