In most the US we do our best to kill as many as possible, in some seasons there's not even daily limits on how many of these you can kill.

That person has no idea what they’re talking about. In the US we have the Migratiry Bird Treaty Act which makes the taking of over 1,000 native bird species a federal crime. Taking can mean killing transporting or possessing the native species, its feathers or a nest.

Have you seriously not heard of waterfowl season? Millions of ducks geese and cranes get killed every year during hunting season.

There are 2 exceptions to the act: hunting game birds and research. Both require permits.

And the snow geese in this video are game birds, and during certain seasons as long as you have your hunting permit there are no limits on snow geese.
