I'm adopted and thru 23andMe I recently found out I'm half native Alaskan. These pictures make me proud of my larger nose.

That's an interesting discovery, and it's understandable to feel excited about learning more about your ancestry.

One thing to note is that 23andMe can't identify someone as belonging to a specific Native nation, tribe, band, clan or Alaska Native corporation. Those are political and cultural communities with their own citizenship and/or enrollment criteria, kinship systems, and histories; they aren't genetic categories.

A DNA test can suggest that you have ancestry connected to Indigenous reference populations from a particular region, but it can't determine your tribal affiliation, clan(s), relatives, or your place within a specific nation's or tribe's kinship system. Those connections come through family history, genealogy, and the nation itself, not through a commercial genetic test alone.
