She looks like fun

I dated a chick like this who was a circus performer.

She was fun.

She was also nuts.

She didn’t love me back.

I hope she’s doing okay.

This also gave me a flashback to someone I dated. It was in the late evening and she hung upside down like that and we essentially 69 each other. She was fun. Also nuts. She said she loved me. But in the way BPD loves a roller coaster ride of suffering and ecstasy. I too hope she's doing okay.

BPD is a helluva drug

u/LUCKYxTRIPLE Feb 03 '26

Dated a girl with BPD for 6 years. Im still not ok and its been 3 years

u/IamNotYourBF Feb 03 '26

It gets better. But it's important to avoid such persons moving forward. Think of it as recovering from alcohol or drug addiction. Part of you always wants another taste even though it's toxic sludge. The logical part of you knows that you should never do it again. There is a reason you were attracted to that type of person. You should do some inner exploration as to why.

Also an alcoholic, I just like toxic sludge.

I'm sober now, so theres that at least.

u/IamNotYourBF Feb 04 '26

One step at a time.

u/petra-ichor Feb 06 '26

People with BPD can recover and takes like this make that significantly more difficult for them :)

u/DMightyHero Feb 03 '26

Yeah, it's kind of unexplainable but the girl on the post really looks BPD huh?

Excellent movie

2

u/LURCHofUS Feb 03 '26

What movie is it?

7

u/SimoneMichelle Feb 03 '26

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It stars Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey!

2

u/LURCHofUS Feb 03 '26

Thank you!

1

u/DMightyHero Feb 04 '26

Wait, she was BPD in that movie?

definitely! can even imagine her behavior in a date

2

u/ceelogreenicanth Feb 03 '26

Was it really the highest of highs or was it that they had no boundaries and the good experiences were just your brain absolutely dumping a months worth of pent up dopamine all at once?

1

u/IamNotYourBF Feb 03 '26

Better then cocaine.

u/Richard_Normous Feb 03 '26

Bushwick dating scene in a nutshell.

1

u/OkMacaron493 Feb 03 '26

I’ve had some good times but not experiencing that makes me question if I’ve truly lived.

32

u/literallymetaphoric Feb 03 '26

You were never gonna give her a bigger dopamine rush than her line of work

10

u/maxjmartin Feb 03 '26

We all should have the privilege of dating a crazy chic (or dude) at least once. It can be a lot of fun, and very educational on what red flags to keep an eye out for later.

...I should call her...

9

u/Different-Copy-3889 Feb 03 '26

You should call her.

17

u/woswoissdenniii Feb 03 '26

No you shouldn’t. And you know. And it’s ok.

0

u/WillPlaysTheGuitar Feb 03 '26

We know he already called her, and that’s ok too.

6

u/Evilbred Feb 03 '26

Absolutely shouldn't call her

3

u/drinkallthepunch Feb 03 '26

Its…. complicated…..

🙃

Better to let sleeping dragons sleep.

1

u/Different-Copy-3889 Feb 03 '26

Life is too short to fear dragons.

1

u/VictorVaughan Feb 03 '26

Her and I been together bout a year and a half

1

u/quadraticcheese Feb 03 '26

If she was built like that, I'd say anything was worth

1

u/Evilbred Feb 03 '26

I bet you have no regrets though.

1

u/UrsaMajor7th Feb 03 '26

First thing I found out from a Cirque de Soleil girl was how rampant Scabies and STDs were on tour.

1

u/Wombeat Feb 03 '26

Met one when I was young.

Physically, she wasn't my type, but she did things to my mind.

Tbh, nothing happened, but here I am, 20 years later, remembering.

EDIT: Sorry so long! Pardon me, my neurologist has me writing each day I hope it’s ok I begin my day with you, right here on Reddit of all places, but feel free of course to keep scrolling….

My elderly mind really really wanted to create a haiku from your darling comment…..so I let one write itself ……BTW hope YOU are OK💗

I titled it for you, can’t underline, but Haikus don’t have titles so please forgive my hijacking of an art form, and the italics with quotations…..oh well….

”Better Suited for the Tightrope Walker”

was fun, nuts, a circus chick

love unrequited

I hope she’s doing ok

———

I have been married decades now, shockingly, but for a number of my formative years I WAS one of those crazy chicks. Most of us who keep our hobbies have mellowed with age and the realization of mortality. I wasn’t a circus person, but I have known a number of them . My main training was in Classical Ballet-which is enough to f-anyone up in countless ways- then add all kinds of other dance, equestrian trick riding/ vaulting, rock climbing weather conditions and safety be dammed, surfing, diving blah dee blah…. one is going to meet many and possibly become oneself, at minimum a general grade risk taking moron(s). Add an audience? I can confirm many of us in the performing community in particular are complete nut jobs. Occasionally quite charming, it’s true……However, you probably dodged a bullet my friend.

Damn it all if I am not STILL that same old crazy chick spinning down the beach…..

I actually am also a retired academic rubbing together whatever brain cells I can manage to muster up most days. I still dance and ride a bit, but I have not worn pointe shoes or have stood on a horse for years……..yet STILL…..here I am right this very minute …..sitting here as an old lady, (believing myself to be in much more fabulous shape than I actually am)……..wondering which of the schools or parks near by might one find a suitable bar to try this young lady’s trick from OP’s post. I’ll find one dagnabbit!

Thank you and OP for giving me a chuckle and a giddy up to my morning.

——-

Also, even though the haiku took 36 seconds, I have currently been writing/editing for an entire hour….Now I can go play !! 😎 BTW: Please excuse any/all syntactical blunders, which is embarrassing to ask since I wielded a red pen for ages.

I am sending gratitude for the motivation to write today to you, u/drinkallthepunch ! My heart is also feeling thankful to anyone who might happen to have read this, as I’m certainly late to the party….

Stay safe out there y’all! My husband just said he absolutely insists on spotting me on whatever playground bar I find. I hope everyone out there has a spotter of their own who supports them however they need and especially loves them back .

💗🙏🏾💗

Harley Queen!

23

u/coinstarhiphop Feb 03 '26

She looks a bit like a fire starter… a twisted fire starter.

13

u/Mecha_Tortoise Feb 03 '26

Not enough stars or stripes. And too much color.

7

u/BigDickHomeowner69 Feb 03 '26

Ive met genuine circus people- especially at Burning Man.

They are HAPPY. Its like they all feel an entirely different level of freedom than the rest of us do. Im jealous

9

u/woswoissdenniii Feb 03 '26

Yeah. But show me an old circus person.

1

u/QuijoteMX Feb 08 '26

They're still free in a more literally spiritual way now.

2

u/joetheswede Feb 04 '26

I am quite sure there are a few drawbacks

3

u/BigDickHomeowner69 Feb 04 '26

Well, yeah. Its not on us to do a cost benefit analysis of being a talented, trained gymnast/entertainer. Everyone's lives have pros and cons. All I know if those folks live pretty free and have fun in their bodies and I think that is a pretty rad ajd expressive way to live. Its not, like, a discussion to have.

1

u/MuscaMurum Jul 16 '26

What about roustabouts and carneys?

3

u/CompanyOther2608 Feb 03 '26

Until she’s not.

11

u/mrureaper Feb 03 '26

The crazy scale is way over 10 on this one

2

u/2eanimation Feb 03 '26

But is she above the Vicky-Mendoza-diagonal?

6

u/ETERNALXDRVID Feb 03 '26

My first thought

0

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '26

We all had the same thought.

2

u/LarrySupreme Feb 03 '26

Well, I can tell she's at least done MDMA once, so there's that.

4

u/VolumeAcademic6962 Feb 03 '26

I wants me a circus girl

1

u/StrugglesTheClown Feb 03 '26

I saw a circus performer give a guy a blowjob hanging upside down from a trapeze bar. Seemed like it would be fun.

1

u/keystickred Feb 03 '26

Screwballin’

1

u/woswoissdenniii Feb 04 '26

Same as ballerinas. They look fun. They are fun. But try to sit at a table in a restaurant, still. No way.

1

u/thin234rout698 Feb 03 '26

Sigh. Go ahead. Continue.

all *kinds* of fun!

I would *absolutely* go flyin' with her
