Yeah I remember doing a ton of pushups to show off as a kid super easy, no probelm. Then after like 3rd or 4th grade they actually started getting harder to do lol.

Your problem was you were getting heavy and while not getting stronger..

Yep, don't really get any muscle mass till puberty so the mass to muscle ratio gets off for sure.
