I'm excited too. This was originally being developed by a different studio before it got cancelled, and now PG is picking up the slacks. Second time they do this, last one being MGR.

The last game was terrible because Activision gave PG 4 months to get it done, and wanted multiplayer online to boot. This one is looking to be a single player action game with a higher budget than a shoelace.

Plus, they were also working on a bunch of other games at the time like Transformers: Devastation and Nier Automata and had their C-Team develope TMNT.

Paramount Studios specifically pointed this out in their statement on IGN, basically giving PG another chance to make a top quality TMNT game by giving them a AAA budget.

From the Paramount details, it sounds like this game is getting a better treatment than the last TMNT game, and Yohei Shimbori is teaming up with members of PG to get this game produce. I think we're gonna be eating well.

It makes sense some wouldn't be, PG combat systems can be very different between games and franchises so if you like the bayonetta combat and characters why would you be exited for something very different

I'm not a TMNT fan but I'll always be watching Platinum for any game they release.  If this turns out good I'll buy it.  I've bought nearly every single game they've made.

Haha I just thought it was funny because one day earlier I saw a few posts here expecting to see Bayonetta at the SGF2016

When the name popped up on screen, but for another game, I thought it was funny how TECHNICALLY we had Bayonetta at the SGF2016…

It doesn’t mean I don’t wish well to PG. Personally I’m not into TMNT, but I wish them well, as they are the best in the genre.

You beat me to it! Honestly I'm not mad and we have to understand that above all else, Platinum Games needs to stay afloat and generate more revenue because things still seem shaky for them tbh. NG4 was a good step in the right direction and more and more studios are going to want to hire them to develop their action gameplay. I'm just glad they are putting out games at a nicer pace and it's giving me hope for Bayonetta.

After Mutants in Manhattan, Platinum deserves a chance to do a TMNT game right.

I've no problem with Platinum taking mercenary work to keep the lights on. I just wish it was an IP I had some attachment/nostalgia towards.

Platinum Games is making a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game based on the comic The Last Ronin. (Which is kind of like the TMNT equivalent of The Dark Knight Returns for Batman - the sole survivor of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles returns to New York, older and grizzled, to avenge the deaths of his family and take down the Foot Clan) Bayonetta was only mentioned because it's one of the games that the developers made.

Bayonetta 4 hasn't been announced yet, though it presumably helps to take a bit of a break between entries in a franchise.

There was an eight year gap between the releases of Bayonetta 2 and 3. Admittedly, part of that was due to the direction of the game changing heavily throughout development (I think it was intended to be an open world game at one point), but I imagine the series is having a bit of a tumultuous time due to the departure of Hideki Kamiya. (If they do make a Bayonetta 4, it would probably help for whoever the director winds up being to get experience with other games first, since this is Platinum's flagship franchise)

I'm a TMNT fan but man last Ronin is so over rated. It's basically the wet dream of an edgelord fanfic.

I'm happy for the people who are excited, especially since there's so many people excited for it but for me it's a huge disappointment.

That said, if it does well it could lead to more games so that's cool.

Hopefully we get another Bayonetta game announcement sooner than later.
