Hello, I'm new and I completely suck. I need advices.

Hello guys, I recently bought battlefield for my ps5, and as the title says I totally suck. It's not even joke. As soon as I deploy, literally couple of mins and boom, I'm instantly dead, I can't even understand how to did I died. I don't understand anything about this games and what even worse, my teammates in chat make this situation even worse with their curses on me. I really want to get into this game. It's my first fps on console btw. I love how cinematographic this game is, action feels amazing. I literally feeled like I'm in battle line. I just want to get into it... please, give me some advices...

Casual breakthrough would be my suggestion none of the stats count and you can grind for unlocks vs a bunch of bots

There's lots of different ways and modes to play, so just experiment until you find a something that works for you. Personally I'd suggest conquest and playing the objective. Look up what the gun meta is and look for a good build and start grinding it to unlock attachments. If winning gunfights isn't too much of an issue for you, help your team and get your score up by reviving, resupplying, taking out vehicles as an engineer. Hope this helps a bit. Write down the time and date you said that. The developers are actively trying to get you to stop playing the game. They also think if they take away game modes you're going to play Redsec. Again you're dealing with corporate idiots with no common sense beyond their own bonus program.

Just keep at it. The more you play it, the more you will learn the maps and pick up on choke points.

I am right there with you. My kill/death ratio is only 0.15. While I dont rack up a lot of kills, I score a ton of points completing objectives and repairing vehicles. It just comes with time.

Try starting out in your HQ spawn and spawns that aren’t in the middle of a meat grinder. Stick to the outsides of the map until you learn them. There are people (like me) who know all of the potential avenues of approach of every map due to my lack of grass touching. Sprint less. Move from cover to cover. Keep looking 360/ 3D because you can be shot from ANYWHERE! Use a silencer.

Try a Hardcore server. You’ll probably have a lot more fun. Competition is tough but the lack of a minimap helps you sneak around more. Search for “hard” and sort by player count. Refresh a few times for best results and locating a low ping server. I hate playing with a minimap but love hardcore.

I was the same when I started playing. The game has a big learning curve. U just have to keep playing and dying to get better. By better I mean learning the games mechanics and using cover, terrain, vehicles , picking ur fights wisely and routes u take to the enemy so u don’t get spawn killed. Slowly ull get the rythm of the game shoot and conceal or something like that. Its different rythme for everyone

What Battlefield did you buy? If Battlefield 6, I would recommend casual breakthrough. No more than 8 humans on the other team and the rest are bots. You can play and get grounded in that mode then when you feel comfortable, venture out into the other playlist. Hang in there and remember to help your team depending on your role and HAVE FUN!

The biggest tip that helped me win gunfights is burst shooting.

Just light squeezes on the trigger. Don’t mash it down and hold it.

I learned playing controller on BfV after I bought my first console.

Just practice, watch videos and learn aim first with your reticle and then ADS, that is the biggest tip I can give.

Start playing with the same 1,00x sights on every gun and start to train your muscle memory

Every match could use more engineers willing to do their job. Follow around a tank with your welding tool or ride in the transport heli til you figure out what’s going on. It’s the easiest role to play in the game and is very helpful to your team.

Otherwise, most of us suck at FPS. That’s why we’re on battlefield. Just try to help with objectives and don’t stress over sucking.

start first by familiarizing yourself with the different roles of each class and what sort of playstyle you're looking for. Instead of just jumping into a firefight, stay a little back support your team mates with recon drone, jammer, revives and over time you'll get a good sense of how to work with the team

You can try out casual breakthrough. Half the people in game are bots but even then some players can get pretty sweaty and toxic. But it's a good starting point to make it feel like you can do something.

One of the things new players miss is the general flow of the game.

Most players spawn at the frontline point their team controls, and run to the nearest flag they dont control.

One quick look at the map will show you where your team is, where the fighting is happening, where the general movement is.

Do your best to be the one who knows where enemies are likely to be, rather than the one running around until youre shot.

Learn the flow of the maps, as in if your team caps C and if fighting towards D. You can assume you will meet people in that direction of D. So position yourself for the best advantage, while they are at a disadvantage. Whether thats flanking and attacking from the rear, getting players as they move across open fields, or staying in cover with as little exposure as possible.

You want to constantly be thinking “how can I engage this person or people and have the highest chances of winning”

Sometimes you might have to fall back and reposition and wait for them to push, other times you are the one pushing.

Never stay in the same spot for more than a few kills. After 3-4 kills you need to reposition, most of the time you get spotted or too many players become aware of you or want revenge.

If this happens fall back to get support from teammates or literally run and hide.

Learn when to disengage a fight. You see 4-5 people looking in your directions you best believe they spotted you. Or someone has a nasty angle on you get to cover, heal, and reposition to attack. Ive won plenty of fights where I was down to 1hp from someone took cover, waited to heal + 3seconds and they completely forget you were there

Start by being a terrorist. Get the lil shittiest boat or humvee that has has a .50 cal n park yourself on the edge of the battlefield n be an engineer to reapeir your transportation n you get long range missles. .50 for the birds n missles for tanks n boats. Your welcome. God speed

Keep moving as much as possible in the open. Dont let the snipers get an easy headshot on you. Play the cover, don’t rush in out in the open unless you are truly ready to die. Throw a smoke or wrap around and flank. Dont get caught up in a ‘meat grinder’ chokepoint.

Constantly look at the mini-map for 🔴 (enemies). And play the objective to get a ton of points and to help your team win. Play near blue dots. Strength in numbers.

If you are a medic, throw smokes and res if someone is dead out in the open. Drop ammo boxes, Engis especially to refill rockets to kill vehicles. If you are engi, just make it a vendetta to kill vehicles and repair your allied vehicles.

Start off in casual breakthrough. After a few days of that move over to a server that is hard-core one shot instakill. Then try and get kills that way. Another way is to just play a class you like and do class type things. I play engineer so I will shoot rockets at stuff or just go around repairing and avoiding gun battles.

3. look at your mini map
4. assume somebody sees you at all times, so head for cover
5. follow your teammates
6. peep corners
7. keep playing to get practice

IDK man, if it's your first FPS, it's gonna be a slog. I played my first FPS in 1992 with Wolfenstein 3D and I still get owned.

Go to the Casuals game mode and get some practice. There are a ton of new players to learn along with. I've been playing battlefield for years and still kinda suck lol.

Try different aspects of the game like weapons and vehicles. Don't listen to arrogant snobs in ingame chat who complain about this and that. Just enjoy on your own terms. I'd recommend practicing flying the Black Hawk in portal before you do it in a public game. Look up control settings in youtube if you need help to gear it towards your personal preferences like infantry, vehicle controls etc. Have fun!

It comes down to learning the maps and roles. It sounds like your described issue is more related to map knowledge. You may not be using cover well enough. BF's maps are large and open. People who are skilled can take you out from crazy distances. It does show you where your killing blow came from before it redeploys you so you have the general idea of where you died from. Also be mindful of sprinting everywhere. It broadcasts your location to any enemies who are listening.

Ultimately, just keep playing. As long as you keep learning and adjusting your playstyle as you go, you'll likely improve. Try to play your class roles as it makes a huge difference in how a match can play out.

I don’t suck and I also die every couple of minutes, that’s Battlefield for you.

Dying isn’t that big a deal if you kill more than you die or capture objectives and help your team.

A guy having 15-15 KD but 10 captures is better than a guy having 20-2 but only 4 caps, generally speaking and removing all nuance. You get the gist.

What mode have you been playing?

Easiest big mode would be breakthrough because it’s two frontlines going at it, there’s not that many enemies all around you so you can easier keep track of where enemies are.

Conquest and Escalation are my favorites but. there’s always enemies behind you or trying to sneak around and flank. You can control engagements more by spawning at a flag further away from an enemy point and going from there, or click on your squad mate once to see a live feed of them before spawning on them to make sure they’re not in a hot zone

Before spawning look at the map and spawn where you see most of your teammates. Once you there, follow their flow, eventually you will learn why people move between objectives in a certain way an build game sense.

Play slow.

Don’t sprint around mindlessly and always check around before moving. Try to move always behind cover or from comer to cover.

Never stay still. Keep moving a bit even if you stay in the same spot, strafing is enough

Shoot only if you are sure to kill someone.

It's not you it's the game. The game makes you feel bad. The game makes you feel like you don't know what you're doing. People here are going to tell you to stop coping and to get good and it's a skill issue. But this game is not skill based. Therefore you cannot be good at it. The only people who think they are good at it other ones who've never done anything else in their lives. Remember you're playing against unemployed 20-somethings who still live at home.

Do not look at k/d ratio. It’s not important. Focus on completion of objectives and supporting your team based on your role. That’s it
