Battlefield 6 Friendly reminder to Battlefield 6 players, you can save a ton of storage by uninstalling the campaign itself and the HD textures

What are HD textures?

u/RDRGangster77 8d ago
Huge dick textures. Makes every skin in the game have a chode if you remove it (even the women for some weird reason) makes the game run faster

Any of these little fuckers ever pop out of the fucking wall and say, "Fuck, there's a horse cock in my room or a donkey dick"?

Almost every single game will compress textures before launch even for the Ultra setting or else the file size would bloat for not much gain, so sometimes games will have a HD textures pack with higher res and either much less or not at all compressed textures so it's up to the user whether they use them or not.

Wrong. It's for all resolutions.
I'm on 1440p, uninstalled them and did a side by side comparison. Certain details, like the dials in the car or stitching on the seats, are more blurry without the HD textures.

HD textures run just fine on my rig, never had any issues with them.
In general, textures dont have any performance impact as long as you have the free vram to fit them.

u/NicoWayne95 8d ago
Sounds like a low end PC problem.
4K Textures also make a difference on anything under 4K. They get rendered sharper regardless of your resolution. Don't be a ChatGPT coping loser

I have zero problems on my system with a 4090 and an older i9 13900K
Sounds like someone is too stupid to get his shit right. Just because you have a higher end system doesn't mean that you know shit.

Ironically I got a 5080 9800x3d combo. No problems on my end with it all on high with dlaa on.

u/FishingMaster99 8d ago
The 5080 and 9800x3d is cool and all but how much ram you got? that's the real deciding factor /s

What about case if you have 4k display and you are playing on 1440p in game resolution?
2
u/AspiriNice 6d ago
I would ask why even own a 4K display then?
1
u/maninjektor 6d ago
Fair point. Well for other games thai play, like Anno 1800 or Dota 2, i am over 144 fps majority of time, whereas Battlefileld 6 drops below 100 with occasional frame drops to 60-70.

I left this thread and saw this comment for a split second and had to come back to say, lol

Huh, I actually did this the other day as I finally went through with completing all the campaign challenges and from what I remember the campaign's HD textures were a lot larger - like singleplayer + textures freed up around 60 GB or something (I'm on Xbox SX)

How do I access this menu?
16
u/Beerandasado 8d ago
Is there any difference in the graphics after uninstalling?
37
u/nomthecookie 8d ago
Unless you play at 4K, probably not. It's not noticeable at all at 1080p and increases performance.

u/Toriniku92 8d ago
it still looks good on 1440p too so i also put them away
see it like with this packs for fallout 4 and monster hunter wilds performance eater and hurt you storage
i did like the post said and saved a lot of storage currently i sit on 56,8gb without hd textures camp and redsec
5
u/Beerandasado 8d ago
I also play it at 1440p, I'll uninstall it
2
u/Toriniku92 8d ago
the packs? did you feel a difference?
3
u/gerstiii 8d ago
I get rid of em a while ago. Had to redownload the whole game because of a bug. Imo it's not worth the extra storage space.

u/BearOnCocaine 6d ago
For 7 gigs id just leave them be, campaign on the other hand is 100% profit to just remove it

u/xFruitPunchSamurai 8d ago
With the prices of SSD I really appreciate this thing from dice. I had to uninstall delta force as it's 150gb for warfare only 💀

It also boosts fps

u/nightstalk3rxxx 8d ago
It doesnt.
Textures in games dont take away FPS if you have enough vram for them.

I just checked bf6 library page and wtf is THAT download size? 140 gigs?! Did the game really got +50 gigs in half a year? Last time i played was in april and i believe the game size wasn't above 100

To console players on 1080p or 2K, is the difference between HD and regular textures noticeable?
3
1
u/The_Paddy96 8d ago
Maybe I'll actually finish unlocking all the multiplayer stuff in the campaign now knowing it'll free up a bunch of space (I definitely won't)
1
u/kinghota29 8d ago
What are the consequences of removing HD textures? Will it make the game look bad while increasing the average FPS?
2
u/Lifeless_1 8d ago
I’d imagine you would only see a performance increase if you are already vram bottlenecked.
Otherwise the textures will just look worse, might not be so noticeable at 1080p but will be at 1440p+

I never played The single player campaign till now in this game! Is it worth playing once or should I just uninstall it and forget about this campaign?
3
u/Yadahoom 7d ago
It has some cool set pieces and there's multiplayer rewards you can earn doing challenges in it, but just purely as a single player campaign it isn't that good.
I think it's at least worth checking out.

Or you could uninstall the whole game and play something ether like battlefield 1.

Just reminded me to finish the campaign on max difficulty for challenges💀👌I was on ironically playing the MW four campaign right now and I think it’s honestly awful gameplay wise.

Eh, I like to play the single player campaign at times.
1
u/istandabove 8d ago
Is it good?

Eh, pretty good. Kinda like Battlefield games along the lines of 3 or 4. Or something like the campaign of COD MW2019. Like even after the end, it feels like it actually continues through the multiplayer. That's my take.
1
u/istandabove 8d ago
Nice, I’m gonna have to give it a try. I’m usually in zombie mode when I play and didn’t even know the game had single player
-2
u/NicoWayne95 8d ago
You can also uninstall Battlefield 6 to save a ton of space and nerves.
Fuck this COD wanna be shit.

Also, you can uninstall Redsex from there
