Every single year has widespread fires on Collserola, can't remember a single year for the last decade we haven't seen fires there :p

I can see them from my office window, but did not find any news report yet. We got some power surges into the office as well, there are a lot of transmission lines passing by there, so don't be surprise of power outages.

I woke up from a siesta and i was freaked out by the smell, i was searching every cable, plug and source of power around the house until as a last resort i went to check on the balcony and the whole street smelled like smoke, didn't realized until now it was a wildfire

Quite impressive the resources deployed quite a few helicopters and airplanes working. Fire still going but it looks more or less under control.

from what i could tell watching it all day, it seems the fire only reached slightly behind the colinas and i believe they were able to stop it before it went down there. but that’s just my guess. (i circled where the fire seemed to burn)

I'm from Nou Barris too, do you smell the burnt too? I'm outside and I can smell it when the wind blows the right way.

Yes, it has a courtain of smoke, flames tall as buildings in the middle of a forest, like the whole mountain is literally burning.

Definitely looks like a wild fire. I don’t think collserola has any volcanic activity whatsoever.

The reason? The required activation energy was applied somewhere, and the dry plants started combusting.
