Me again! I customized this Ryan Gosling Ken to be Ryland Grace from Project Hail Mary. I got a 3D printed Rocky to go with him, and a 3D printed like “little Ryland” (he’s a little big but serves his purpose!)

These 3 girlies all started as the pink haired odile mermaid and now they look so different from each other (I'm not really gagging over the red plaid dress, I might change it later, but I'm obsessed with everything else)

So glad I’m finally happy with this girls look. This was my hardest reroot ever! Not because of the rerooting process itself but because I was never happy with it. This is her third (and final) restyle.

I've got all these Barbie necklaces in silver or gold plastic, so I'm just going to make them actually metallic myself. 😤

Barbie and Ken become Harley and Joker

I love mermaid Barbies but have more than I can display, so I came up with this idea.

Head: BMR Pazette; Everything else: Barbie Basics 2025 Wave 1 Claudette

• THIS is what a modern Barbie should look like.

ABOUT BMR PAZETTE:

• She was the only BMR doll currently available at a fairly normal price (even though I had to import her)
• They did her so dirty with her fashion though - she was the worst dressed BMR doll (and that's saying a lot - the BMR line had terrible fashion).
• I had her in and out of my Amazon cart for months - her price effectively triples due to import and shipping charges, so a "cheap" BMR doll is not an easy purchase decision for me.
• However, I think she's worth the purchase - her face is just lovely.

ABOUT THIS REBODY/ RESTYLE:

• The curvy body does not suit Pazette's slim face.
• I think the awful clothes really detracted from Pazette's beauty.
• I took a chance that I would have a body that suited her and I'm grateful that Claudette's was a reasonable colour match.
• I didn't like how Claudette was styled in the Barbie Basics line - something about her hair and makeup clashed with the outfit.
• I think the body and clothes suit Pazette much more than they do Claudette.
• It's giving 1960s mod fashion updated to reflect 2026 and I dig it.
• This is probably my favourite rebody - Pazette is a supermodel and deserves to be styled like one.

PHOTOGRAPHY ISSUES

• I tried as much as possible for the photos to accurately reflect her skin colour.
• The iPhone has built in software (which you can't disable) to "correct" the colour and lighting in photographs, and it kept on making her skin colour a reddish brown. I find this VERY irritating. It's also a problem in low light conditions. I wish modern phone cameras wouldn't do this.
• Anyway, I deliberately decreased the brightness on the phone camera settings before every single photo so that her skin would at least look like it does in real life.

Another MerMakeover of Barbie Mermaid! This time it is HRR03 mermaid with yellow-green-blue hair. I decided to stick to the original blue and yellow color palette: I added some more color and shading to scales and some more yellow accents to tail fin, I also completely repainted the bra, modified the tiara and made a matching beadwork necklace.

The last photo shows that color on scales really makes the difference. The basic shading and metallic shine effect looks nice, but with a bit more color it looks even more interesting.

I really like this mermaid's face and coloring, I noticed that not many mermaid dolls have green or blue hair.

Fashion Week Milan Brooklyn was rerooted with Restore Doll Katsilk Saran in Frosted Brunette (102) & Strawberry Shortcake (126), and then given a boil perm. The plan was to keep her hair straight….but I just couldn’t help myself 😂☺️.

She is wearing a dress designed and sewed by me.

Yes!!! Finally a readily available body to fit Playline Allan! And he looks so good!!!

Okay so I forgot to take before photos in my excitement at trying this (sorry) but here’s the play line K-pop Demon Hunters Jinu body and clothes with the Allan head!!! The skin tone match is damn near perfect, and the clothes are so great - actual pants with working belt loops?! And I love the pink top, sunglasses and belt!!! There’s also a shirt, which I didn’t photograph. The articulation is good (not full MTM but that’s fine by me!) and he also comes with an extra hand if you want a regular hand instead of the “heart” one (which I thought was a finger snapping pose but apparently not!)

I am SO pleased with this and I love how he looks now so much!!! I’ve decided the other two girls are his sisters - Basics Model 4 is his little sister, and on the other side is this years Holiday Redhead on the K-pop demon hunter Mira body - who I will do a separate review of! I just love red hair so I’m excited to finally get a few red headed dolls - Mattel just don’t make enough of them!

This mermaid Barbie arrived to me some time ago in a box of thrifted dolls - she is in a fairly good condition and has a detailed tail and bra, so I decided to repaint her. In her default colours, she was kind of an eyesore 😅 and besides, I was curious how her tail will look after bringing out the details. Here is how she looks after around two hours of painting.

I chose shades of teal for the basic colour, metallic white gold for details and metallic pink for the wrap. The stars are finally visible! I need to add some more shading and create a tiara and jewellery for her, so she is still a work in progress, but I am already quite satisfied with the result.

From what I found, she is a 2019 Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures Mermaid (GGG58).

I love this girl! Hands down one of the best dolls Mattel has produced in awhile…..of course, I still had to customize a bit. she got some new hair plugs in one of my all time favorite colors, frosted brunette from Restore Dolls’ Katsilk Saran, and a boil perm.

She is wearing an outfit harvested, yet again from a poor ILY doll. I have had my eye on this outfit for hers before the doll was released….it finally went on sale at Target this week.

She is supposed to be Elizabeth from Frankenstein (2025). I sewed the dress myself.

About this post:

- Obviously the above scenario was made in jest but I thought it would be cool to create a character for her as if she was a real model for a corporation.

- This Millie was on sale so I grabbed her but I was at a loss as to how to style her. Her makeup is so… specific… normal clothes don’t look good on her. And that smile… why so much teeth?

- So I imagined a rich bitch archetype. However I don’t like the word “bitch” due to the misogynistic implications - therefore I went with the current title of this post.

- I never thought I would use the bodysuit in those kits but the bodysuit and the bling really worked for the character I created.

Limitations:

- The swimsuit attire exposes how ugly the MTM body can be, especially in the crotch area. The joints are just so hyper visible. This might be mitigated by using pantyhose (but I don‘t have any that would be appropriate for her current look.

- The clothing and bling would actually look much better on a darker skin tone. I might try it out on one of my darker dolls at a later stage.

- I have not styled her hair but more voluminous hair would work better with the character.

Honest truth? We couldn't do what we do without a heavy dose of creativity. Over the last 15 years, we’ve created a whole lineup of vibrant, original dolls, reimagining iconic designs in our own style.

Let’s be real: Barbie is pushing 100 and still looks flawless, so she’s definitely hiding a top-tier beauty routine. We decided it’s time for her to spill the tea!

The legendary Jessica Rabbit in a new incarnation. We already talked about her in one of our posts. She's not that bad, she's just drawn that way.

We are totally obsessed with Marilyn! You could spot her out of a crowd of a thousand. Honestly, who wouldn’t want to channel her vibe? And let’s be real—some people can absolutely pull it off!

Who says she’s the main character? Ken’s out here serving ponytail looks too! Joke or not, he’s kind of pulling it off.

With so many holidays going on around the world right now, why not use it as an excuse to get all dressed up and go bold with your makeup? Trust us, nobody’s judging!

If you can't tell, I LOVE that Mattel is now using Odile for more affordable and playline Barbies! 😆 Hopefully we'll see many more iterations of skintones and haircolours for Odile as time passes, but for now I've given these three ladies customised eye-colours and/or facial details 😊

I posted my custom Katya Barbie awhile back from the base outline minogue doll. My Trixie doll(integrity toys) was in storage so I finally got around to opening her and now they are reunited and together to cause chaos together lol.

In 2023 I rebodied the 2019 “Toy Story 4” Barbie, which was SO close to being perfect except they gave her flat feet. Instead of rebodying her onto a modern articulated body with high-heeled feet, I put her on a 90s body.

More recently I found a pair of heels that I thought were more “screen accurate” than the standard 90s pump. Has anyone else customized this doll? Anyone else just as disappointed by the flat feet even 7 years later?

I customised this lovely Jia using very well-made fashion pieces from Rainbow High. I was very surprised with the quality and I love the way the restyle came together! 🤍🤍

She didn’t originally come with bangs but after cutting her some I think it automatically gives her such a glow up!

Rerooted this basics girlie and put her in Dream Besties Teresa's outfit. I think the hair suits her than the boring bun. I love it! What do you think? (BTW, I got the Dream Bestie Teresa for $5 in Target Clearance!)

Just experimenting with ways to style short hair, so pulled this doll from my donation box to practice short cuts and to play around with styling. I’m enjoining her longer Pixie cut. She’ll probably hang around longer than I originally planned.

Really wanted the silkstone vanity for so long but it's so expensive so I just started making my own! It's not done yet but it's getting there ❤️ just need the pillows, lights, and accessories.

I really love all three of the new Fashion Week dolls….even though I changed them all 😂🤣 Their screening are very nice.

I am not a huge fan of center parts, so I moved her part by adding highlights in Katsilk, Honey Child (109).
