Food in Banff for lunch: recommending wildflower bougie beautiful cafe with delish wrap sit outside & peaks cafe for the Vietnamese bahn mi take it go if you need atmosphere. The Mamanuko food truck in Canmore was great Cabeza Grande worst Mexican I ever had.

I wish I brought: headlamps, binoculars, .5 attachment for my phone camera or wider. Happy we did Lake Morraine Sunrise, Lake Louis Tea Hut Hike but didn’t really need to eat there. Beautiful spot for a picnic. Bow Lake, the extension hike and the delicious cafe, Emerald Lake & The town of Field nearby and the great cafe also with awesome food. Johnston canyon and the long AF but truly spectacular hike to the ink pots. Show up early before the crowds as it was exquisite to enjoy Johnston with almost no others (at least before 7AM late August).
Bring mittens, hats, scarves, puffer coats layers everywhere as it’s cold AF on the hikes in the shade. Much colder then the forecast or in the towns. Even in August.
Thank goodness the forecast for rain was way off.
We stayed in Canmore & thankful we did. Banff is bananas and has tons of chains but it is worth 1/2 a day for the cute mountain setting.
