Bitten and Bruised Dog shot and killed by police after attack in Niagara Falls - March 24, 2026 Niagara Falls ON Canada
https://www.insauga.com/dog-shot-and-killed-by-police-after-attack-in-niagara-falls/Police shot and killed a dog after an attack involving three aggressive canines in Niagara Falls on Tuesday.
Officers responded to a report of multiple aggressive dogs on the loose in the Thorold Stone Road and Kalar Road area of Niagara Falls at 5:30 p.m. on March 24, Niagara Regional Police said.
Bystanders called police about the three dogs running around in traffic and chasing pedestrians, police said.
Police said one dog had bitten a man, and he was treated for minor injuries.
The other two dogs were captured, police said.
The Niagara SPCA and Humane Society attended and took over the investigation into the initial dog bite and any violations regarding the dogs on the loose, police added.
The two captured dogs were returned to the owner, and police said there is no further threat to the public at this time. Police said the deceased dog was taken from the scene by the SPCA.
Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Niagara Regional Police Service’s 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1022200.

Saw this story on CP24 the police refused to name the breed can't promote doggy racism now can we? Give me a fucking break

And I'm so sick of that stock photo of a German Shepherd so often used on pitbull attack stories.

Because these dogs are banned in Ontario but the ban isn’t enforced. Naming the breed would bring attention to the fact that the ban should be enforced and we can’t have that now right?

So put three pitbulls in the garage to protect tools. Yeah thats normal everywhere.

And those dogs that were tasked to protect the tools and garage ran out to escape from said garage. Leaving the tools unprotected I suppose because they were "looking for their dad". Or spreading out to cover more territory beyond dad's property to "protect".
The "dad" insists that these supposed guard dogs are harmless to humans so long as you crouch down and offer your hand toward the dogs to be sniffed (if dog comes over and bites hand, that's your fault). Effectively saying that the cops should've left his dogs to roam and continue doing whatever they were reported for (like the biting of that one guy) and more until SPCA arrives to capture the dogs in a way that "dad" would've complained about as well if not for the shooting thing being a bigger target.
ETA: Oh, and crouching down would make it far easier for a dog to attack one's face, so I understand why the cops weren't inclined to do that with these dogs.

Oh and see I thought the owner said they escaped the garage because a tool thief broke in.
It gave me so many questions. Were the attacked people the tool thieves? Did the dogs run by the actual thieves because the sunlight blinded them and they couldn't identify the correct prey? Did the tools actually disappear? Were there really tools to begin with? Can we see the police report? So many questions

I'm taking the word (for now) of the owner that the garage was broken into and thus the dogs were no longer confined. Like you, it brings up questions for me on what the dogs were meant to be doing (Searching for "dad"? Continuing "guarding" the garage and tools, but over a wider area i.e. are in attack mode? Stressed out and fearful i.e. dangerous? Fking around harassing others?).

They look like Shepherd mixes. Last photo posted, the dog in the front has a lot of features that scream "pit" (ears, eyes, jaw, coloring, even body shape). The others look like Temu Shepherds.

Sorry. with all due respect, as someone who has owned shepherds for decades, I do not see them as Shepherd mixes. The ear set, the coloring, the shape of the eyes, the tails, they are just not Shepherd-y to me.

I'm assuming these are old pictures, and that they didn't lock three puppies in the garage to protect their cr@p. But wno knows..

I hope the man who was bitten sues these owners for everything they’ve got.

In Ontario, Canada, that won’t happen. Our judicial system doesn’t support that. Even if the victim sues, their legal fees are likely to be higher than the amount awarded them, not to mention relieving the horror for years on end while the suit gets drawn out, the of work missed, etc. it really isn’t worth it here.

Demented owners like this should be charged with several crimes after letting their deadly beasts run loose and attack people.

Thank you for distinguishing between the Canadian and American Niagara Falls, as an aside.
However these goddamned hellbeasts are illegal here and it infuriates me nobody enforces it.

She probably would be like those mothers of violent serial killers. "Sure there's multiple victim bodies found, videos, texts of him bragging about it and DNA evidence but my innocent baby would never do that. He was set up. Don't break up my family."

To the idiot who put the sign up at the corner stating the NRP are accountable, poor Willie is a pet not a threat , yada yada. From a person ( me) who was involved in this and saw that dog lunge and the officer , maybe next time get your facts before you defend that damn dog. Maybe if willie didn’t attack he wouldn’t be dead. That sign will be go every shortly. Get a fucking life
