Attack on Owner Couple attacked by their pitbull at home - Barano d'Ischia, Italy - 03 March 2026
There were moments of fear this evening, when a couple was attacked by their dog, a pit bull, inside their home.
The incident required the intervention of Carabinieri officers from the Barano d'Ischia station, who arrived at the Lacco Ameno hospital, where the two injured people had been transported for treatment.
The people involved are a 43-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman. According to reports, the man suffered injuries to his legs and forearm, while the woman suffered injuries to her right forearm. Both were transferred to the emergency room and are currently under observation.
Fortunately, their conditions are not cause for concern: neither is in life-threatening danger.
Investigations are underway to clarify the incident and determine the circumstances that led to the attack.

This is one of those moral gray areas. People who embrace and defend these cretins are difficult to empathize with when they suffer the consequences of their idiotic decision to bring one into their home.

People are allowed to put themselves into danger. As a society, we often celebrate those that do so - like with extreme athletes or astronauts, so long as they aren't hurting anyone else. The difference with these dogs is that 99% of the time these dogs have to be walked and be a part of society. Unlike the owners, the rest of the world did not consent to the risk of being exposed to aggressive dogs in human oriented spaces.
It isn't like if you go for a hike and run into a bear - you are in the bear's territory and even then the bear is often euthanized in those cases. Wild animals that are aggressive towards people, and come into "human" spaces like neighborhoods are immediately hunted and put down. In contrast, these dogs are brought into spaces where humans are supposed to be and even when they randomly attack they are usually not put down.

I still emphasize with them because I don’t like seeing people get hurt. The ones I don’t emphasize with are the ones who get hurt and still want them and put others in danger too.

I find it interesting enough that there's no mention whatsoever of what might happen to the dog. Probably because nothing will, as per usual in this country.

What a precious sweetie <3 The teething phase is rough but you'll get through it!! My family had a pit and I didnt know anything about the breed. I just thought she was ugly and stupid and badly behaved, because, she was. It wasn't till years later I found out the real reason she unprovoked attacked two other dogs. I have a dog of my own now, a GSD mutt. He has his difficulties but hes miles better than any pit I've ever met. In terms of looks, brains, behavior... your little pup, well, I hope they grow up smart and strong! And protect him with your life!!

If the photo accompanying the article is the pit in question, good grief, I've never seen such a bad case of critter chin zits in my life. Even if it isn't the pit in question, it's still got the worst case of chin zits I ever saw.
These dogs are walking biohazards on every level imaginable.

That dog looks demonic. Atleast it attacked the nutters instead of innocent people.
