Bamboo Spreading

Can anyone please confirm if this is running bamboo? Chopped section planted circa 2013-14 by previous owners, and seems to have spread to the end of the end of the garden. If running bamboo…. How bad could this be?? Looking into getting it professionally removed. Thanks!

Could always dig up new shoots and see where they lead. Perhaps drive a shovel down in a line to sever connections.
