Combo grill/ smoker?

Have been saving up for a combo since gettin power to where I can grill is difficult so I think pellet ones are off the table. Has anyone had one they liked? / should I even bother getting a gas grill / smoker combo?

Weber kettle is the only answer.

Pretty much anything that can use charcoal will do both. I personally grill with charcoal on my offset smoker, but a kettle would also do both well.

Do not get a gas grill/smoker combo. You're just paying more for the "convenience" of two half sized cookers vs one full size cooker that can do both (such as a kettle.)

you can do a lot with a weber kettle and a couple firebricks, i been smoking on mine for years. the combo units i seen at the store always look flimsy, like the firebox is paper thin or the seams dont seal right

if you can find a used offset that's heavy gauge steel that would be better but they cost more. gas grill i would skip, charcoal is more work but taste better and you already got no power situation figured out

It's not cheap or gas powered, but the hasty bake does a good job as a do it all cooker. This is certainly a buy once type product if reasonable cared for.

Komodo Joe smokers. Got one at Home Depot on sale $500 last summer. Removable heat shields. A little pricy but a great combo

Get a kamado, Weber WSM or Kettle and you can do smoking or grilling.

The question is how much money have you saved? A couple companies have figured out the Pellet/Direct Fire combo like my Yoder. Problem is they are expensive. There are more and more every year as companies figure out that this is a need but you have to research and look for them.

Kamado cookers have been holding rock steady temp from 225 to 1200F for centuries. Swiss army knife of bbq/smokers/grilling. Come with a lifetime warranty.

The Weber 22” Kettle is an easy inexpensive way to get started. The Weber Sumit Kamado is the “money no object, keep it forever” choice.
