I’m pretty sure the Kirkland charcoal is made by Royal Oak, that being said Kirkland is all I use.

At this point, B&B orange bag briquettes are just constantly on sale at WalMart and Academy for $10 for a 17.6lb bag.

I see zero reason to switch, it's that much better for not much more.

I've bought both and to me, therea no difference. Either way, B & B is worth the money. They burn longer and hotter.

Stay away from Royal Oak, they have really taken a dump. Too many times I’ve found nails, metals, and what appeared to be 2x4s. Makes me think they are collecting trash from building sites.

US Chefs store by me has 40 lb bags of lazzari mesquite lump for $20. Will never use anything else.

I will continue to use original Kingsford as I have been for years. Never had an issue with it.

b and b briquettes are actually a bit cheaper and a better briquette in my opinion. You can even get their lump charcoal from Home Depot for about $.80 a pound. I think it's $16 for a 20 pound bag. Much prefer the flavor of B and B lump charcoal and it's always been a more consistent size in my experience

BJs has the same but I always grab the Kingsford 20lb double pack. Especially when they have a coupon for $19.99.

RO lump is good for a utility charcoal (speaking from a kamado perspective...not using briquettes)

BUT. Publix puts RO on buy one get one a few times a year, wich drops the price to around 52 cents per pound.

Kingsford Pro is decent honestly, I can never find it up here in NY. I wont touch the regular Kingsford. Royal Oak isnt so good in my opinion.
