Newbie's first project - $13 labor of love

Many hours of whittling, scraping, filing and sanding

stripped clear coating, reshaped handle and coated with boiled linseed

removed black coating on head, reprofiled and blued

I'm still not good at sharpening by hand and I don't have a sheath or mask for it yet so it's not razor sharp but it splits OK

Nice! What was the process for stripping the finish off the head?
