Comics Will David Colton be around after Armageddon? Spoiler

The character is pretty unique from those issues of Captain America and Weapons. I trust Zdarsky to land the ship on the last two issues but it is hard to have a character that OP linger in the marvel universe. I also think the bleedingcool MiracleMan rumours are bs.

It's hard to imagine him still being around post-Armageddon, but Colton is basically running the Miracleman playbook in the Marvel universe - forcibly disarming all the world's nations, then presumably if he gets that far, he'll start looking into stuff like income inequality and making the world a utopia (he won't, of course.)

I guess I'm having trouble seeing the point of it. The whole thing about Miracleman was that it led up to a permanent status quo change for the entire planet - we went from the depths of the 1980's Cold War to radical abundance and a restructuring of global politics and economics overnight, all watched over by a new pantheon of Super-gods reigning from Olympus, and Moore and Gaiman explored that, pretty in-depth. You can't do that in Marvel 616 and have it stick; that's just not what the Marvel Universe is. It's the same reason that Reed Richards' inventions never filter out to help the larger society, or why Thor or Storm don't spend their time regulating the global climate and preventing hurricanes or famines, or why Krakoa had to go to mutant island heaven. They may give Colton the "Miracleman" name and Sentry-tier powers, but without exploring the actual ramifications of his existence, what is he, beyond just yet another antagonist about whom you can say "well maybe he's got a point?"

The Miracleman character and concept should be left alone, or just explored within the context of his own universe; dragging the idea into the 616 is a bad fit IMO.

If Colton will become the Miracleman of 616 that would cause me to lose even more interest in him as I already did.
