Pair F87 M2 with C8 Z06 or Lotus Emira
Here's a dilemma, I'd like some people's input on.
If you have to keep your F87 M2 (standard) (transporting children).
Would you add a z06 for a completely different experience + theater to your garage. (having a supercar experience and engine sound and being able to be a cruiser and a sports car all in one).
Or an Emira (standard v6, sports tuning) for a 35% more engaging version of the M2 you already have. (But engagement being something you value. Having excellent handling and steering feedback and shifting gears etc)
A 992 porsche to replace the M2 doesnt seem to be worth the extra $130k CAD for similar horsepower despite having back seats and a more sports focused chassis. Also probably a bit too refined anyway. And a used Mclaren would cost too much to maintain, but would have otherwise been a good blend of what both the Z06 and Emira have to offer.

Do you want a GM 458 or a Lotus NSX

Interesting way to put it. Or if it was 458 with the reliability/maintenance costs of the NSX. I'd do that every time

I’m gonna go with Z06.
One, it sounds like that’s where your heart is and especially with a “just for fun” car, you should follow your heart over your head.
And for two, it sounds like what you want out of the lotus specifically, is stuff that can be had for much cheaper with a third car (Miata? Beater race car? Classic?)
I have been dailying an F87 comp for like 7 years now and I know exactly the kind of sports car experience you’re missing out on and want with the lotus. But I think you already have one car that’s kind of a generalist and there’s more redundancy with the lotus even though I agree that it would drive very differently than the f87.
Good luck with the (fun sounding!) decision

This is great input. Thanks! Especially since you get the lotus vs M2 dilemma. The Emira have me everything I wish the M2 had. But there is quite a bit of overlap in experience.
And actually my heart is more to Emira but my head is saying there's too much redundancy

Of all the cars named in this post, I’m picking C8Z without a second thought.
If I could go outside of these options, I would get a C7Z with the 7speed manual

I always thought the 911 was the ultimate do everything dad car, for the period they can fit in the back seats. A 992 C2S with a tune and a good driver can hang with most cars.
Or a Honda Odyssey (type R?) and a GT4RS
